2012-13 NBA Season

  1. Any NBA fans here? I am a big Kings fan, I have followed them as a baby/little child in their glory days and have been a die-hard fan ever since. I think we have a great team, although it is obviously very young (we have the youngest team in the NBA) so our potential hasn't been fulfilled yet. My expectations for this season is to fight for the 7th/8th spot but I don't expect to actually make it. We recently drafted Thomas Robinson with our fifth pick in the first round of this year's Draft. He fills our need in defense, a good leader, and he does provide decent offense at the power forward spot (I think all he needs to work on is post game in his career). Our other stars are Tyreke Evans, a scoring guard, and Demarcus Cousins, a big man who can score and provides nice size for rebounding. I think we have a great future, hopefully that includes some Play-Off success... Anyways, Mirza Teletovic has recently agreed to a 3 year, 9 million dollar deal with the Brooklyn Nets. This is big news for our country, as Teletovic will be one of the first Bosnians to ever play in the NBA. He is a PF who can shoot the lights out, can rebound when needed (although usually stays out of the paint due to his shooting abilities), and isn't a bad passer. He can be a great Sixth Man/very good starter.

Dicuss all news, trades, games, signings, etc. here for the upcoming NBA season.
  2. I used to enjoy Basketball but I lost interest once they franchised off my Sonics. I watch the odd game but not a great lover now, I did get NBA 2K12 though so that might get me back into watching it.
  3. I've never cared much about the NBA, but I follow it casually.
So I'm a Clippers fan, since they take the same mentality.
  4. Also forgot to mention that during last season I chose my new teams to support and they were Raptors and Timberwolves.
  5. I'm a Warriors fan. Shitty teams from the Pacific Division lol, Kings and Dubs. Go us
  6. Bulls fan, currently having a broken heart cuz Rose won't play this season but we got Kirk Hinrich back :D
  7. D'Z, I'm jealous of your offseason. You just stepped back and didn't do anything dumb.
  8. I support the GOAT heel in Lebron James.
  9. Tim Duncan has officially signed a three-year deal with the San Antonio Spurs.

In other news, Rashard Lewis is going to take his talents to South Beach. :jeritroll:
  10. Ehh I watch it a little. I'm a Spurs fan if anything.
  11. never watched a basket ball game before
  12. I watch casually, unfortuntely don't have foxtel :( so it's hard to watch but I'm a Spurs and Celtics fan
  13. Yeah Houston Rockets traded like everybody for those 3 draft picks haha
  14. Yea, Miami is winning AT LEAST the next two titles, possibly more. Adding two shooters like Allen and Rashard to that team is just unfair. There was a point in time where Allen and Rashard were the center pieces to a team that was winning 50 games, now they are the 5th and 6th wheels playing with guys like the Big 3, Chalmers, ect.

Miami might win something like 5 out of 6 rings or something absurd like that.
  15. The big 3?

Can someone list the top 10 players in NBA atm.

Like in football it's Messi, Ronaldo, Rooney etc, what's it for NBA?
  16. The big 3 are Bosh, Wade and LeBron. They're called the big 3 as they were huge transfers to the Heat. Lebron is the best player in the league IMO.
  17. According to the MVP race, it's James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Tony Parker, Kevin Love, Rajon Rondo, Russell Westbrook, Dwyane Wade, and Dwight Howard.

But it's really a matter of personal opinion.
  18. I always heard it was between Bryant and James. They were like the Messi/Ronaldo of basketball.
  19. It used to be Bryant/James but Kobe's getting older now. It is now more LeBron James (i.e. the Messi of basketball) vs. Kevin Durant (the Ronaldo of basketball).
  20. Don't listen to the noobs. The top 10 players in the league are as followed:

    1.) LeBron
    2.) Durant
    3.) Kobe
    4.) Wade (when healthy)
    5.) Chris Paul
    6.) Dwight Howard
    7.) Carmelo Anthony
    8.) Kevin Love
    9.) Dirk Nowitkzki
    10.) Deron Williams

Just missed: Rose, Westbrook, and ANDREW BYNUM (<--underrated as shit)

LeBron is head and shoulders above the rest, and is clearly the man atm IMO. He has always been the most talented, but he has now done it throughout the entirety of the playoffs and the Finals and won his team a ring.

Durant has surpassed Kobe, but Kobe awesome. He's completely reinvented his game now that he has lost some athleticism, and even at age 34 he is a threat to win another championship, especially with the recent addition of Steve Nash.

also as far as 'Big 3' it's just become a generic term for any 3 superstars that come together to one team. For example Boston had a big 3 when they won the title with KG, Pierce, and Allen. Then Miami had their big 3, now you always hear about other teams putting together a 'big 3'
