  1. We all know there's clearly some uncertainty around the legitmacy of certain votes in certain matches. Obviously this isn't an issue we want in the IWT, but it's one we currently have so we need to come up with a way of eradicating it.

This was suggested by Dat Chocolate From Jersey, as well as similar suggestions from MrSackfist and tgill85

What we propose, is a special guest referee match, and this is how it could work.
For matches where there is suspected bias or unfair play at work, the match will be made a special guest referee match.

There will be a forum account called "Special Guest Referee" - and the voting on the match will be done solely by the 3 users who are picked at random from the list of online users at the time of voting. This means this match will NOT have public voting.

To pick the 3 random voters, we will look at the online list and whoever is "most recently active" will be #1 and who ever was "least recently active. i.e the last person on the online list" will be the last number, say #28. Then we will use random.org to pick 3 numbers between 1 & 28. Then we go down the list, and whoever is those numbers will be the special guest referees.

Then, one at a time, the selected voter will be PM'd the temp. password of the account, and they will simply reply to the match thread saying: "I am voting for 'X' user." Once all 3 votes have been cast, the winner will be announced. If it's a larger multi-man match, then there will be more voters required.

It is up to the user who is chosen as to whether or not they want to reveal their identity (ONLY AFTER THE MATCH HAS COMPLETED) or whether they want to remain anonymous. They won't be forced too.

So what do you guys think, or do you have any tweaks you'd like to see? Let us know!

    Cheers.

  2. Actually like that idea, Also think you should address normal voting, I pitched this to Jabri, No voting for people in your tag team or stable. It makes things a lot more fair.

  3. Everyone, whether they agree to it or not, is part of some stable/group, not necessarily in IWT but on the forum as a whole. That'd be completely unfair and it'd slash voting amounts.

  4. IWT Teams or stables, It isnt unfair its more fair, Groups like The Cure just vote for each other in all matches.

  5. There's only 4 actual members of the cure IIRC.

Mystical George, Eddy335, JwabTV and TheOvalhead - correct me if I'm wrong, boys?

  6. The Cure and MP guys basically. Most MP guys have over 100 posts and an extra 3 votes from them is still unfair.

  7. Ah, so this is jusy you being anti-MP as usual. Like you always are. I see. Makes sense now.

  8. No not in any way, Its called unfair voting and trying to solve it. It would be the same if it was anyone.

  9. No adam, you're always anti-MP. Everytime something about MP is mentioned it's "they suck, he sucks, he's a dick."

I could get Crayo and possibly Ryan to confirm but they don't want to be dragged into it.

  10. Correct. I believe Aids and David are in it too.

  11. I'm undecided. As a new person to the IWT, I feel I'm not the best guy to be taking advice from. However, this has a down side I'm thinking of. What if the randomly selected voter has some sort of beef (non kayfabe) with someone (people do don't lie) that could really change an important match

  12. Yes, that is a risk. However hopefully as there a 3 voters, if one guy votes for the "lesser promo" because of a beef, the other 2 will vote for the guy that deserves to win.

  13. Took the words right of my mouth. Seeing that half the site have beef with MP guys is bit risky indeed.

  14. Everyone realizes this is just make believe? I've lost matches I should have won in the past too. Who cares? Leave it as it is, it all evens out in the end.

  15. I don't know anyone who has a "beef" with MP apart from Adam, tbh. You guys have been chill for the most part.

  16. Yeah, but unfortunately, some people are like Adam. But hopefully people won't do anything like that.

  19. I voted for David and Eddy/Jwab because I felt like they deserved their wins, it's nothing to do with The Cure. Why shouldn't they get my votes if I feel that they've put in the best work, just because they're in my stable? You can't just throw out these wild accusations because the guys that you never wanted on here are now here and taking some of the attention away from you. (FYI I didn't vote in Aids/Crayo because I thought it was a tie.)

Although I get where you're coming from with this idea, it's kinda stupid to pick three random users who may not know what they're doing and have them decide a match. I wouldn't feel confident if I knew two dim lights could screw me out of a well deserved win. Also, letting everyone vote is a huge part of what makes these PPVs so special. I don't think that it would be the same without public voting, but I can see where you're coming from.

  20. I was going to point out the same thing with how I voted, but I knew there would be some one calling it bs or something like that. But yeah, I agree 100% with everything you said there.
