OOC Address to the roster

Discussion in 'Internet Wrestling Titles' started by Roadster, Aug 30, 2016.

  1. I was gonna put most of this stuff in the rate thread, but I feel that it will be forgotten, so I wanted to address the members of IWT, as a whole. These are some stuff that I would like to see improved/changed and some stuff I would like to see stay/build upon.

I want to address the mid-card. I have a feeling that the entire mid-card is completely uninspired. I don't see any drive, and I can see why. Maybe it's because of the backed up line for title shots, but I can assure everyone that you don't have to wait in line. Look at Scott Fargo and Kelsey Taylor. They are less than 6 months in and they are in title spots. That's because they showcased creativity and an interest. I see a lack of a drive. I'm assure that anyone who i willing to make a splash and really showcase some dedication and creativity, they will be thrusted into much more interesting situations.

Next, I want to talk about the voting. I know SummerSlam was booked in a weird spot. It was in the beginning of the school year, and people were preparing and stuff. I'm not really forcing people to vote but I just wanna say that I felt that it was much lower than expected. August is usually the last month of the boom, IWT goes through. I just think too many people were not voting despite being booked in a match. I don't really want to force people who aren't booked, but I do expect people booked to vote. No penalties or anything, but just saying that I expect people booked to vote in matches. IWT is a group effort to have fun and put on a good show.

Thirdly, I want to talk about the quality of the show, overall. I really enjoyed the show. I liked almost all the matches, and the ones I didn't weren't due to lack of quality but slow action or no-shows. I wanna thank everyone who voted and participated on a great show. Cheers.

  3. You'll need to be more specific.

I think one issue I've seen is that there isn't a title for the mid card, it feels like the standard is so high that the people who hold the titles are insanely good at promos and there is no real middle ground, I'm not sure how we'd evaluate it but it would be cool to have a specific title that only people on a certain level could challenge for but again its impossible to regulate. It just feels that the lack of motivation is because there is no real goal to strive towards.
  4. TV title?

  5. The TV title is there but again it feels the standard is so high for newcomers that any mid carder trying to take on Jacob wont get too far. Its just an observation since I got back and its not completely negative, if anything it speaks a lot about the match quality. It just looks like newcomers are struggling to build feuds and a title that is specific to a certain level of promo would help.
  6. Agreed with all of that, my man. Voting should be much higher with the roster we have, mid-card could use a little boost, Summerslam was dope. If people feel like the mid-card has too high of a standard, they should raise their standard then. IWT has more talent than its ever had right now, so step up and join the movement. Join IWT Training Ground if you feel need. Mid-Card is perfect right now imo, a good challenge and a good stepping stone to the main event.

  7. Paul Ravana getting left out, I CALL BIAS XP

But real though, I can't say this for everyone but the main reason I didn't vote was mainly because the history of any of you guys personally so I felt like I didn't have the right to vote, if you know what I mean cuz there are feuds that probably stretch MONTHS back so I don't know how it started, or how it progressed. Like I know we have archives and stuff like that, but I don't think most people have the time or patients to dig through all promos to get the real gist of it.

Also, I think the lack of drive comes from the mid card getting scared of being too good. Yeah I know, that's like the worst statement of all time right there, but I think that if a mid card wrestler (not naming anybody cuz I don't know what your guys position in the card is) starts getting really good with their promo work, then they start dabbling with the main event, and I think that start getting doubts in their head that now their promos have to suddenly start getting better at even faster to rate to try and hang with the main eventers and I think that creates stress of trying to have the best promo being written and then all it takes is one guy roasting you to take a big L and causes your character to plummet down the card. They'd rather be a big fish in a small pond you know.

Like I said I can't speak for EVERYBODY, I'm just putting my own two cents about it, if I'm wrong, please tell me. That's all I got to say. Peace.

  13. You can't just raise standards man, it takes work and practice and when the standard is too high it's difficult to get better. Training Ground is empty, nothing is ever posted there.
  14. it's not just about being better than everyone else. It is about showing effort and development. there is a small percentage of people in IWT who actively post in the section between shows. Ever notice how they Main Event guys are always the ones who post build?

  15. Always the main event guys? ;)

But I'll admit, I am feeling a little inspired, I may write a promo now and try to post it by the end of the day.

    Show Spoiler
And no, it isn't me doing a jabroni "I'm unappreciated" shoot promo. I ain't that kind of person. Just the word inspire...literally inspired me.
  16. You are certainly not the basis of my point. 3/4 of the guys in IWT never post. If everyone was like yourself then IWT would be truly incredible.

  20. You can raise the standards. There was a time when Senhor and Alias fucking Antonio were the mid card champs, it was probably harder to win in the mid card than the main event. You just need to work hard, polish your character, and good things will follow

As for Training Ground, expect me to become more active in there. Ive been extremely busy irl past few weeks but it's gonna calm down soon and I, along with everyone else there will be available to help.
