Games Beating Every Video Game In History (On Their Hardest Difficulty!)

Discussion in 'Gaming & Media' started by The GOAT, Jun 13, 2015.

  1. I'm thinking about putting this goal on my bucket list. What do you think? Anyone ever given serious thought to conquering every single video game in history (I realize not all games have official endings per se, but the vast majority of them do)?
  2. you have your work cut out for you. Especially if you count mobile games (which are officially classified as video games).
  3. You're insane. Games are released faster than you can complete them.
  4. Seriously. Some games would take you literally hundreds of hours to complete

even if you dedicated literally all of your time to this it would never.... e-e-e-evvvveeeerrrr happen
  5. And let's not even talk about Contra and Battletoads :urm:

  9. lol Contra? Not only have I beaten it but I even once accomplished the task of doing so without losing a single life. Not an easy goal it was, but an obtainable one nonetheless. (The latter non-Nes Contra games, not so much. Contra: Shattered Soldier on the PS2 is hands down one of the hardest games I've ever played period.)

Anyway, I realize it's pretty much an impossible goal, but I'm a big wrestling fan and was recently giving serious thoughts about watching (and rewatching) every PPV in WWF/E history (as well as possibly every WCW PPV as well) and since I'm an even bigger fan of video games, I wanted to do something daunting of a task there as well. However, perhaps just beating at least, say, 50 or 100 games on each system (which would still consume a good amount of time) would be more of a realistic and attainable goal.
  10. But can you beat "1" on the Odyssey?
  11. lol What's that?

Beating every game in history may be an impossible task, but there is no one individual game (and certainly no individual boss) that the great Lockard23 cannot beat. Put it in front of me, and it can be beaten.
  12. How about the top 10 games from every console on the hardest difficulty? Narrows the field some. Not sure where you would get "qualified" lists though

    me too though, lol
  14. Lists like that can be found all over the web. I generally agree with most of the games they list too, and most of the ones that give people the hardest time on the NES (Ghosts 'N Goblins, Silver Surfer, Ninja Gaiden 1-3, Battletoads, etc.) are also among the most difficult games period lol.
'Nerd' is a label that us game aficionados should proudly live up to, not live down to.
  15. Well yeah, I just meant I didn't know which list you would want to go with. I'm sure many of them are different. Personal preferences and all.
  16. I used to beat every game that I purchased, that all kinda fell apart with GTA. I wanted to go exploring and cause problems more than beat the storyline. Sadly, to this day, I have yet to complete any GTA games. I also seem to always end up going online and skip right over the campaign or story mode.

It would be cool to beat a bunch of games just to say you did it. There are so many games out there and many of them are expensive as well because of being collectible.

  17. Depends what you call beat on the hardest difficulty, some games have one diff but beating them truly means doing a shed load of sidequests ect (FFs, Smt games ETC), so are we just talking killing the final boss as that is easier than a conquer in a lot fo games

  18. ...Well, doesn't fighting and conquering the final boss kind of necessitate having to play through the rest of the game first? :idk:
  19. Shit, dude, I don't think you could beat all the 8-bit games without dedicating your life to it, much less beating all the games ever.

You could beat all the speed-running records and it would still be impossible. Don't know why you even entertained the idea. Trips's idea of beating 10 out of each known plataform(maybe narrow it down by number of sales) is probably doable, though.
  20. Another thing to keep in mind as well.

I can't name any titles right off the top of my head (maybe some of you can?). but I think there are a few games out there that the story changes depending on the "path" you choose with your character. So, not only would you need to choose a different path each time, but it would have to be done on each difficulty.

    Or so I would assume...
