Results from San Antonio “Conquest Tour” Event for April 23

Ring of Honor’s CONQUEST TOUR rolled into San Antonio on April 23rd and the great fans at the Shrine Auditorium were treated to a remarkable night of physical competition. You’ll be able to see the event on VOD and own it on DVD from rohwrestling.com.

    MARK BRISCOE defeated SILAS YOUNG

A fast-paced opener began with Young proclaiming that not only was he a “Real Man” but he was also the better wrestler. While Silas had Mark in trouble and nearly captured victory, Briscoe was able to pin Young with a textbook Inside Cradle.

    RHETT TITUS defeated WILL FERRARA

A battle of ROH DOJO graduates featured tenacity and athleticism from both. After a back and forth affair, Ferrara looked as if he would win but a momentary distraction by Titus’ ANX tag team partner KENNY KING helped Rhett pick up the victory.

BOBBY FISH defeated KENNY KING via submission

After playing a role in the outcome of Rhett Titus’ win, King got on the microphone and said he didn’t want to wait until later but wanted to face one half of reDRagon now. King’s San Antonio “Fish Fry” was thwarted as the “Infamous One” forced King to tap out with a kneebar.

THE MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS defeated THE ADDICTION

A fantastic tag team match featuring a big win for the Guns had a devastating end for Chris Sabin as the ADDICTION showed no compassion in a post-match attack. After getting the win, Sabin and Alex Shelley were attacked from behind by Daniels and Kazarian. With Shelley down on the floor, the Addiction hit the “BEST MELTZER EVER” on Sabin. Referees and security intervened, preventing more damage from being done.

KEITH LEE AND SHANE TAYLOR defeated THE DIRTY OUTLAWS

At a total combined weight of 700 pounds, Lee and Taylor were too much for “Dirty” Andy Dalton and the “Outlaw” Ken Phoenix to handle as the massive, powerful duo gained an impressive victory.

THE YOUNG BUCKS defeated CHEESEBURGER AND DELIRIOUS

With Matt and Nick Jackson as the hosts, San Antonio was ready for a “SUPERKICK PARTY”. But the Bucks were pushed to the limit by the first-time team as Delirious and Cheeseburger hit their respective finishing moves, nearly pulling out the win. However, the party ended in spectacular style with the Young Bucks’ dazzling offense to the delight of the San Antonio faithful.

SIX-MAN MAYHEM – PROVING GROUND INSTANT REWARD FOR THE ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
ROH WORLD CHAMPION JAY LETHAL vs ACH vs JAY BRISCOE vs KYLE O’REILLY vs MOOSE vs RODERICK STRONG

Unique stipulations put Lethal in great jeopardy to lose the crown. If any contender picked up the win, they would receive an instant ROH World Championship title match. After referee Paul Turner got inadvertently speared by Moose, former 2-time World Champion Jay Briscoe had Jay Lethal pinned for at least a “7 count” before Lethal escaped. Later it looked as if hometown favorite ACH would win but Lethal hit the “Lethal Injection” for the victory.

Following the match, Jay Briscoe told Jay Lethal that he had him beat and asked for a rematch against Lethal for the ROH World Championship, a title that Lethal won from Briscoe last June at “Best in the World”. Lethal proclaimed to be the best and left before answering Briscoe’s challenge.

    SAN ANTONIO STREET FIGHT
    ADAM PAGE defeated BJ WHITMER

Bad blood has brewed for months and the animosity culminated in satisfying fashion for Page with a win over his former mentor. It was “Anything Goes” in the Street Fight, as both Page and Whitmer used steel chairs, leather belts and finally a table to settle this feud.

After all the brutality these two unleashed, Whitmer looked to “Superplex” Page through the timekeeper’s table but Page revered and hit a neckbreaker from the top rope that left Whitmer staggered. Page then drove Whitmer through a table propped up in the corner and scored the victory.

Ring of Honor returns to San Antonio and the Shrine Auditorium on Friday November 4th.
