Easter Eggs on Google/Google Maps?

  1. I know there's a couple out there I've heard whispers about but I can't really remember them.

I know you can look at the main site backwards by using Elgoog.
if you type in the word "askew" in the Google search box and click search things become crooked :)

Also if you type "Answer to life" "answer to universe" "answer to anything" the top result is the #42, which is a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy reference that google programmers seemed to like.

Are you aware of any of these features on Google? If so please share for my sake and possibly others as I find entertainment in some of the most simplest things.
  2. there's probably a list somewhere that mentions all of the easter eggs, but a few I remember:
Searching "binary" or "hex" changes the results number into that format.
    Search "zerg rush".
    Search "Do a barrel roll".
    Search "Anagram".
Use Google Translate as a beat-boxing machine. (Press the speaker on the right)
  3. I just went and searched and here's a few I found interesting....

    • Type any actor's name followed by "bacon number" to get the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon value.
    • Searching for "Google Pacman" has a playable version of the game appear on the screen
    • Searching for "Google in 1998" results in a 1998 Google search screen appearing in place of the current Google search screen. Clicking on the first result will bring the user to the Wayback Machine's version of Google from 1998. However, clicking I'm Feeling Lucky will go to a Mashable article about the easter egg.
