  2. They picked up Fitzpatrick so they will be drafting Clowney.

  3. UH FITZPATRICK SUCK AS A QB! HE ONLY GOOD AS A BACKUP! SO NO THAT WILL BE TAKING JOHNNY!

  4. I should hope David Clowney wouldn't be the #1 overall pick. He sucked. Jadeveon, however, will be.

  5. It going to be Johnny dude!

  6. People care about the Texans?

  9. Hey Kevin, do you think it was the right decision? Can't help but think of Jake Long with this.

that being said there was no QB that is a surefire difference maker this year, we all know that

  10. It was the right decision because the Texans management felt it was.... like I said in my previous post, they have Fitzpatrick and they also have TJ Yates... both have played well... it's rebuild time for the Texans... they know they will be in the top 5 of the draft again next year. In rebuild time for a team you pick the top player on the board every pick... and they did exactly that. The Browns who chose Manziel 22nd overall on the other hand needed him big time.. he has a chance to start immediately there and I believe he will.

  11. Was just looking over their roster... and I could be wrong here, but I don't think Houston is in "full rebuild" mode. They had some major holes on the roster which they did a great job of filling to go with still having plenty of talent from when they were a perennial playoff contender just 2 years ago. They needed a rush linebacker (Clowney) which helped twofold so they could move Brooks Reed inside, they could use a tight end (got one in the 3rd), offensive line (their 2nd round pick will help, but they can use more) backup RB (Andre Brown), safety (your boy Chris Clemons), and nose tackle (Louis Nix).

So as you said, they did do a really good job of hitting many of the holes, but the QB position is so important. You have a lot more faith in Fitzpatrick and Yates than I, but even then, getting what you know you'll get out of Fitzpatrick is probably better than rolling the dice with Bortles or Manziel, Especially in Houston where another weak-armed QB helped them make the playoffs for so many years. I question the pick since none of these guys will get you deep into the playoffs, but if your goal is just wanting to get there then Houston is in a fine position to do so.
