  2. Adam Burke walks out onto the stage, walks down the ramp and rolls into the ring

Now is the time for change. The regime is gone, the dark cloud that sat above IWT has cleared and a new dawn breaks over the horizon and we all eagerly look on with a glimmer of hope in our eyes for the future that we can provide for this company but with this new hope comes with its downfalls, its changed people. The people that once thrived in this environment have fallen to the faults of reality and one of those men stands in front on me tonight as a roadblock.

Nick. I admired you, I looked up to you. When I was at the bottom of the card you were main eventing and I built myself around trying to be you and everything you accomplished was what I wanted to be but I was a naïve kid. I see you for what you truly are, this transitionary period in IWT has shown you for what you are.

You’re a coward. You fight like a coward, you talk like a coward and you act like a coward. You’re backing down at the first sign of defeat; you didn’t expect this. You threw out an open challenge knowing damn well that someone with no experience and no clue would walk out and you’d have an easy win for yourself, you want to pick apart rookies to benefit your own record. Tonight I may get dominated and defeated in 2 minutes but I can say without a shadow of a doubt I stepped up to the feat and challenged Goliath as just a mere David. Tonight I may need to be that rookie you pick apart but the fact of the matter is that I can stand here, face to face and know I am not a coward.

I come out here every single night Nick. I fight and claw and sometimes I win and sometimes I lose but not once… NOT ONCE. Have I ever been a coward, I’ve never backed down from a fight and I’ve damn sure never attempted to pad my record with easy wins, I don’t go for the easy challengers. It’s time for you to step up Nick and prove to me and most importantly prove to all these people why you deserve your main event spot again because the person I’m looking at doesn’t deserve shit.

Been a bit strapped for time this week, not the best promo I've done.

  3. Nick walks out onto the stage, pausing briefly to take in the sights of the arena and crowd. He smirks when he sees Adam, and heads towards the ring. He grabs a microphone, leaps onto the apron, hops the top rope and smirks at Adam once more.

"I cannot believe you have the audacity to come out here and call ME a coward. Take a good, long look in the mirror Adam! You are the biggest coward in IWT! You claim I back down at the first sight of defeat but for over three grueling years I have been here putting my blood, sweat, and tears into this company while you... You ran like the coward you claim to hate. While I was here winning championships, improving, and becoming a house hold name you LEFT! You took your ball and went home, because you are a coward. I've never faltered or ran like you did. When everybody bailed and IWT crumbled, I stayed true and fought all comers. I helped save this place while you were gone doing fuck all.

Why must you lie? 'Not once have I ever been a coward'. Those are your exact words, but I recall you doing just that at IWTMania II. You ran off scared and didn't show up in a match against JONATHAN of all people, while I began my ascent to championship glory that same night. And I think that night just captures the true essences of each of us, Adam. You fail to show up and leave all the time, like a coward. While I, on the other hand, show up every time and give it 110%. You are a hypocrite. You are a coward."

    He pauses and begins pacing.

"You also seem to be quite misinformed. Because I actually joined the IWT after you. I wasn't in the main event scene until, ya know, after you left like a coward. But I guess it might make sense that you would idolize me and aspire to be because about three years ago I defeated you! And what makes you think that you have any better chance of beating me now than you did then? I would say the odds were pretty good for you back then. I was just some rookie in his 2nd match, while you were practically a veteran. And I blew you out of the water back then! So now, when I've got years of victories, title reigns, and experience while you have nothing but your 4th name change and a reputation as the IWT's biggest failure, what makes you think you even stand a chance?"

"When I made that open challenge, I wasn't looking for someone easy like you. I was looking for somebody to test me, to show me where I'm at and how much more I have to improve to get where I want to be. I want to be back in the main event, and I have my Golden Ticket title opportunity primed and ready so I can reclaim my spot. But you are sadly not what I have been looking for. So I'll do EXACTLY what you said will happen. I'll dominate you for 2 minutes and put you out of your misery. I'll end this nice and quickly, so I can move on to a real opponent. Hope you don't quit again after you lose."

  4. Nick, this isn't cowardice. I may not have you're title wins and I may not have a perfect Win Loss Ratio but I showed up. My chances of winning may be low and you may destroy me in 2 minutes but I SHOWED UP AND FOUGHT and tonight I hope to rip apart your golden ticket and crush any hopes of you regaining that title spot because you don't deserve it.

This isn't a grudge match, this isn't a title match this is just a match to determine who is better and who will grab that brass ring and that their career to the next level, you've cracked under the pressure, You took your spot in the darkest hours of IWT and that is what made your career and as soon as things start to change what happens to you? You fall from the top of your mountain, you crash and burn. Your titles decay into nothing and what once was your main event spot has been filled. Soon Nick I will pass on the torch of IWT's Biggest Failure to you.

I can't wipe my past history Nick, I can't change what happened but what I do is I come back and redesign what I once was into something different and tonight I take another step towards that. I'm going to do what I couldn't do three years ago because three years ago I should have ended your career before it even started but I didn't. So tonight I will do what I should have done a long time ago and make sure you never set foot in this ring again.

Hey Nick, I'm sorry about these promos. I'm not giving you much to work with. Been super rushed this week so its not up to what I want to put out.

  5. Nick scoffs at Adam.

"It's clear you can't wipe your past away but not because of your inability to do so, but your lack of knowledge about anything in the past. I took my spot in the IWT's darkest hours? Are you serious? They were the brightest of times, my friend. 2014 was arguably the greatest year in IWT history. Matches consistently exceeding expectations, innovation, the coming of the 2nd generation, the competition being tougher than EVER, and best of all... you were no where to be found. I won my championships when Joey Bryant, Alias Antonio, and Aids Johnson were in their prime and wreaking havoc on the IWT roster. And it wasn't by luck, it was by my god-given talent and ability to outperform EVERYONE when it matters most. While you left like a little bitch I was holding my own with the best this place has ever seen."

He smirks and leans back in the corner.

"I never fell off the top of the mountain because I never truly reached it. I haven't hit my peak, I've still got a lot of gas left in the tank and you'll see soon enough that my potential is limitless. I'm still making my ascent up the long, winding trail towards the pinnacle of the mountain that is IWT. I've hit a few high points along the way but with those came some dips. Now, I am on the straight path directly to the IWT World Championship. I'm in the express lane while you are at the foot of the mountain, failing to even make the slightest ascension. In our match - if you can even call it one - I'll make sure you never try to climb the mountain again because you don't deserve to even step foot on this path. You have no talent nor a desire for any success as evident by what you've said in this little encounter. Why the hell are you even here?"

Nick stares at Adam with a look of disapproval.

"I hope that after your defeat tonight, you can find your purpose in this life. Because without one, you are doomed to fail. My purpose is simple. To reconquer the IWT and reclaim my crown. That's not a dream either because it is something that I will make a reality. And there is no way I would ever let someone as pathetic as you get in the way of my redemption. I will not be stopped."

  7. Adam got better at promos, nice to see. Felt like both of your promos were similar to each other a bit and there was a lot of dwelling on the past which is alright, but meh. Nick stayed consistent with the strength of his promos so my vote goes to him, but it wouldn't have take much to sway my vote in the other direction.

  8. Both you guys were busy, so I've seen work that is a better from you. But hey, life comes first.

In the end I went with Nick. His two promos were stronger overall and some things Adam says for insults/points, you didn't follow up well on or rather their weight didn't carry as well as Nick's.

  9. I definitely didn't like the promos I put out. They were severely lacking. Thanks for the feedback.

  10. Adam your promos felt really weird to me this time. You seem to have the format and the flesh of the promo on lock now (at least from your first) but I didn't really get your points in the promo. Nick has never come off as a coward to me, especially not in the matches with Spawn and Nick. So it felt like you were just making a load of crap out and calling him out.

I didn't really seem to fit so from the first posts alone Nick had a huge advantage as you let him shut you down in one big blast.

The rushed promos didn't do you a lot of good here, but Nick is one of the best underdogs in IWT.

  11. I didn't really know what to do with this match, neither of us had the time to really build a feud for it and coming in Face Vs Face was also a difficult situation. I've obviously been out of the loop for a long time now so I wasn't sure what to do, my promos were very much thrown together which bothers me but I thought that throwing out crap and admitting it was rushed was better than just no showing or cancelling the match.

  12. One way to think of your promos almost like a debate in a way. Don't just insult people for the sake of insulting them. When you call a person something like a coward, back it up. Either use something that are strong facts, maybe something from the past (yeah, Dat Kid, I don't mind history being used. Fite me m8 jk <3) or if you got nothing, be creative (#makeAdamgreatagain)

  13. We all get stuck in the same position sometimes. Aids lost his belt because of the same thing.

Also, trust me face v face is tricky. (Once I had 3 matches ON ONE SHOW WITH ONE CHARACTER against 7 people \ and they were all faces while I was a babyface...and I didn't win them all) but you can still find a way to do well.

You could draw more on your character's personality, showcase that to (in kayfabe) rally the fans behind you, maybe state one or two things about the opponent you like, but turn it around and show how YOU are better. Or even play a slightly more tweener role. Not insult the fans or draw heat, but blur the lines a tiny bit to add more fire.

Then again I am typing this on a bus and what I'm saying could sound like a bunch of nonsense...

  15. If I had more time this week I would have went through archives and stuff to dig up some dirt but I never got the chance.
