We're always looking for ways to improve IWT, and we recently told you about changes that would be happening to the voting process. We have some more news on how this is changing even further, starting right now.

    The NEW voting page:

Put in your ratings for each guy and each item, click submit

    Gives us this:

On the right there, it takes each guys score and works out an overall average. That way the winner is decided by who has the overall higher average score. This is the fairest way to determine a winner, because not only does it give people a better chance if they provide a stronger detailed promo, as opposed to someone's who was a basic promo, but because it had humour they would normally get the 'vote' on a poll. This also helps us enforce our new anti-cheating guidelines.

And finally, the interactive charts are back :dawg:

This new voting method will not only reward people who put real thought into their promo, but it helps us easier detect users that are blatantly cheating, either by voting for someone because they were asked to or because they're repeatedly voting for their friends. I won't disclose how it does this here, because then you can circumvent it.

*Note: It should self-update the results when you open the results page, and every time someone completes the form it will add their results automatically, you don't need to refresh the page*

    Brief FAQ:

When will this be put into place?
Starting from today this will be the voting method used going forward.

What matches will this be for?
This will be for every Uprising and PPV show. Dark matches will remain with the standard forum poll vote (this is due to the complexity involved with setting up the form for each match, and some members may not know how to do it.)

I want to see who voted for me, can I?
Yes, after the match voting is finished the results page will be made available so you can see who voted for who, and what score they gave each competitor.

But this makes the voting take longer, this sucks
Yes, it may take 30 seconds per competitor to decide a result, but look at it like this as a competitor. If I am a competitor challenging for the IWT Championship, do I want someone who can't be bothered to take 30 seconds and click some buttons, to be the person who decides if I win this belt or not?

How will you know if people haven't just used other forum names to vote multiple times?
Like the previous voting method we showed you, each match thread will still have a poll asking 'have you voted' and the only option will be yes, and once you vote using the google form, you MUST then vote yes on the match thread poll, or your vote will NOT count.

If you have any questions or feedback for this, let us know here and we'll provide the best answers possible.

I like it TBH. Maybe someday we can get it down to anyone who makes a dark match could use this too, but I'm sure that would take some kind of training. THIS is exactly why I would like Delik to continue doing the job he is doing. Maybe he won't be "GM" anymore, but he knows how to handle stuff like this. I don't. (Not yet anyway)

  4. Quick question @Delik , will there still be a "Yes I Voted" poll on the match threads that will need to be checked in order for votes to count? Or is that not needed with this method?

  5. Yes, there certainly will be. I'll add this to the FAQ, thanks

  7. Well...tits.

  8. Glad this is getting positive reactions.

  9. This looks great- I take back what I said about never stopping bias voting.

  10. Have to ask: voting is already limited in some matches, won't this just make it more tedious to vote meaning it will become even less frequent?

  11. As covered in FAQ #3

"But this makes the voting take longer, this sucks
Yes, it may take 30 seconds per competitor to decide a result, but look at it like this as a competitor. If I am a competitor challenging for the IWT Championship, do I want someone who can't be bothered to take 30 seconds and click some buttons, to be the person who decides if I win this belt or not?"

If matches become severely limited in voting, we can easily revert back, right?

  12. That doesn't cover it. That explains why you've implemented it, but it doesn't cover the issue that is not enough people voting.

  13. If people don't want to vote there isn't a lot we can do. If the match is good enough, people will take the time to vote, I guarantee it.

After Extreme Rules if every match is down a significant amount we'll revert back.

  14. The one problem I see with this is the constantly updated graph. Say people (especially the competitors in the match) are watching the graph, thinkning they will win because they are ahead but then finding out that certain votes did not count and they actually lost!? I would be pissed. Not that the scenario would happen often (if at all), but maybe something to consider? The only way I would see around it is if the graph was not visible when the voting was live OR someone (you I presume) would have to be on top of making sure that any new votes were valid and making sure the graph is accurate so the competitors don't get false hopes.

This may all be just nonsense worrying here, but it could happen, right?

  15. The graph auto-updates every time a vote is added. To be sure, once a match is finished I'll manually check the scores also. Although, this shouldn't be the case because the voting will be hidden until the match is over anyway, as was mentioned in the previous update to voting thread where the majority voted for it to be hidden.

  16. Right, but it was voted to not have a graph too wasn't it? :idk:

  17. Yep, the graph will be hidden also.

  18. Well ok then, please pay no attention to the moron making the useless comments/questions people.

  19. As long as there's a computer and a bastard to hide behind it bias voting will never end.

Nonetheless i don't think this will do anything other than generate reports but i still think it can work:dawg:
