Football Match fixing in football.

  1. Long read, but worth it. Sad day in football. I can already confirm that the one champions league game that is mentioned was Liverpool in 2009, but that doesn't mean they knew about it. I think it was the opposition goalkeeper who was involved. Liverpool haven't been contacted about it yet though (source on that).

This is an absolutely huge find though. Corruption was inevitably going to happen in the third-world countries and probably in most leagues out of Europe, but the large number given of fixed games in Europe worries me. No surprise at all that a lot of those are from Germany & Italy -- two leagues that just keep declining -- but when it begins to effect the Champions League that is when you begin to worry.

"It would be naive and complacent of those in the UK to think such a criminal conspiracy does not involve the English game and all the football in Europe." - This is the quote that worries me even further. I'm looking forward to hearing more about it actually.
  2. I just don't understand how you can be that greedy. These players and officials will be getting paid thousands to what they do and yet they need to put their career in jeopardy just to make a little bit more? Madness.
  3. Most exciting thing involving soccer I've seen :jeritroll:
  4. No Spain ! :yay:
