NXT Takeover Review - No Spoilers

  1. Hi all, hopefully I'm putting this in the right place, please check out my blog review of NXT Takeover Dallas, feedback would be much appreciated, thank you all! I will give you an excerpt first and hopefully it will make you want to read (wishful thinking :p)

And so Wrestlemania season is truly upon us once more, this weekend will see wrestling fans from all over the world tune in to watch Wrestlemania 32 at the AT&T Stadium however, it could be greatly overshadowed by the "developmental" brand's own big show, NXT Takeover Dallas. The card itself reads like a who's who of indie darlings and great new stars. The world of Japanese wrestling is clearly influential on the product and you can tell that by just a few of the names on the card, former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion and two time winner of The Best of the Super Juniors, Finn Balor, Asuka, the fierce striking woman who takes on Bayley and of course the much anticipated debut of one of the greatest wrestlers on the planet, he comes into this off the back of some outstanding matches with AJ Styles, Hiroshi Tanahashi and my own personal favourite, Kota Ibushi, I'm talking about none other than Mr Shinsuke Nakamura, the king of the strong style!

So all in all, my main reason to be pumped this weekend is NXT, The Takeover specials have produced some of the greatest WWE moments in the past 2 years or so, can this be another top Takeover Special, well lets get to the review!

  2. That's a good review. I'll disagree with the B+ rating for Asuka vs Bayley. I thought it was better than that, and you rated Aries/Corbin higher. That was worst match of the night imo.
As for Joe getting his blood cleaned off, it was probably necessary, although not wanted or planned.

  3. I was torn on the Bayley Asuka match as I wanted to give it an A but as stated, I felt bad for giving it a B+, I'm as miserly as The Hitman :p with Corbin/Aries, I thought it exceeded my personal expectations, I know Aries is great but Corbin never really impresses me, although I've just realised I've rated that higher than the main event, may have to revise that! The main event just didn't feel great to me, I think I'm weird in not being a big Balor fan!

  4. There's a few here who aren't. I don't think @Prince Bálor likes him very much.

  5. That's right. I hate that Irish pretty boy! :otunga:

  6. Ha, love that Titus face, does it come with a free 60 day suspension? Hopefully though some of my ratings or reviews do get people debating, I love hearing other folks' views on matches because we all view it based on our personal tastes

  9. Yeah, Finn isn't that great. Just bland all around imo. So you aren't alone on that front.

  10. Haaa thank God for that, thought it was just me and my brother

  12. Yeah can't deny that, although his Jack the Ripper entrance and the Texas Chainsaw one was a bit flat - still remember seeing him doing it on his first Takeover and being like holy sh*t, thought he was auditioning to be Findust, the long lost Rhodes brother
