WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of William Moody, aka Paul Bearer. Moody made his WWE debut in 1991 as the manager of The Undertaker and went on to become a memorable part of WWE over the course of the next 20 years.

Our deepest condolences go out to Moody’s family, friends and fans

  2. This is sad. Paul Bearer was my favorite manager of all time and to hear of his passing is just shocking to me.

  3. Yeah man it sucks, he was also my favorite manager.

  4. I feel bad now. Starting the day with this sad news. Bearer was my all time favorite manager. He was great on camera, and played his role very good. Was entertaining to watch his promos. Man, I am going to miss this guy!!!

    R.I.P. William Moody!

  5. I wish i would have kept up with him, him/taker/kane were great.

  6. :downer:

I remember watching him growing up. He always made me laugh. He was such a good manager for all ages.
I am sure they will have something on Raw in his memory. I am shocked he died so young though.

  7. Was just reading about this; so sorry to hear about his passing. He was from my state, too. :downer:

I did learn something new though -- hadn't realized in real life he was a licensed funeral home director and embalmer. Hate to hear he passed -- just shocking news.

  8. I grew up watching the guy manager The Undertaker. I remember, that the first time I encountered him I was terrified from his character. As time went along I learned to love his persona. No one knows how hard it is for someone like me, to find out that someone who I used to grew up on, passes away. It's sad. And yes, I'm crying. And that might not make me a man, but I respect the hell out of the people I grew up watching.

    Rest In Peace, William Moody!

  9. Naw man, it makes you more of a man imo. If you can admit you are crying because we lost someone, it to me makes you strong. I dunno, but it does suck.

  10. R.I.P. Mr. Bearer. Will probably be a tribute either on Smackdown or Main Event this week. Or RAW this Monday.

  11. CM Punk made fun of Jerry Lawler's heart attack on Raw, so expect him to tell Undertaker that after Wrestlemania, Undertaker and his streak will rest in peace along with Paul Bearer.

Guess that probably confirms 100% who's winning at Wrestlemania.

  12. If he does that during his feud with Undertaker, he will be the biggest piece of shit I have ever seen in the WWE.

  13. Which will be the whole point. Imagine the heat he would then get if he ended the streak.

  14. Doesn't matter. You DON'T disrespect the dead.

  15. If Taker is okay with it Punk will do it. Punk would probably do it anyway.

  16. It's all within the context of a storyline. And we all know WWE would go there since they went there with Eddie and went there with Lawler's heart attack. Hell, Vince made fun of JR's colon cancer in 2005 and his bell's palsy last year, even though many grilled Russo and Ferrera over doing the same exact thing in WCW.

I wouldn't even care, honestly. Cheap heat, nothing more.

  17. And Taker is who? What about Paul Bearer's family? Don't they have a saying in this?

  18. William Moody's family is not mourning Paul Bearer, they are mourning William Moody. It is not Moody, the person that Punk will slander, but Paul Bearer the character.

  19. Are you serious, bro? :facepalm1:

  20. Totally. Why should anyone care if a ficticious character such as Paul Bearer is brought in to further enhance a feud? William Moody never worked in the WWE under his real name. The person behind the character will remain completely unslandered since no family issues or personal issues will be brought up. Paul Bearer is a completely different entity than the PERSON who portrayed him. Your argument is in theory similar to say me being unable to slander Batman because of an actor portraying him recently dying.
