The main event of ROH World Champion Jay Lethal versus #REBORN Matt Sydal saw both men execute their game plans to near perfection: Lethal methodically wore down his challenger while Sydal took advantage of opportunities to land strikes and take to the air. In critical stages of the bout, Truth Martini’s absence became apparent. But it was “The Poison Princess” Taeler Hendrix who accompanied Lethal to the ring and was critical in securing his victory over Sydal following a Lethal Injection!

Lethal wrestled a more technical, rule-abiding style against Sydal in Philadelphia: was this always the game plan or was the deviation caused by Martini’s absence? With the victory, “The Greatest First-Generation Wrestler” will complete his second consecutive year holding one or both of the ROH World singles championships.

With Martini absent, that meant that Hendrix also accompanied Joey “Diesel” Daddiego to the ring for his bout against Will Ferrara. Equipped with a methodical strategy, the brute Daddiego reached a point of no return with his frustration and attacked Ferrara with a chair, losing the bout by disqualification! New music hit following the vicious shot and Donovan Dijak emerged from the back with Prince Nana! Dijak had been fired by Truth in Philadelphia back in December and was responsible for Martini’s injury in Las Vegas! His actions spoke volumes as Dijak appears bent on dismantling the House of Truth!

The rest of the evening was filled with amazing tag team action! Philadelphia has a storied history of tag team action that includes historic action between the Midnight Express, Road Warriors, the Russians, and Rock and Roll Express as well as the British Bulldogs, the Hart Foundation, Demolition, and the Rockers! The deepest tag team division in the history of Ring of Honor did not disappoint, particularly in the three-way dance between The Addiction, Motor City Machine Guns, and the Young Bucks.

The former ROH World Tag Team Champions, The Addiction, secured a critical victory, and spoiled Sabin and Shelley’s reunion. Daniels and Kazarian debuted the Best Meltzer Ever, a combination of the Best Moonsault Ever and the Meltzer Driver, on Matt Jackson to earn the victory! The Machine Guns did not factor into the decision but did not miss a step, displaying the continuity that made them tag team champions across the globe!

Philadelphia was supposed to be where it all ended between Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly and then-World TV Champion Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish back at final battle but, former ROH World Champions Cole and Strong proved to be too much for the three-time former ROH World Tag Team Champions reDRagon in a tag team dream match. reDRagon has already petitioned for rematches and we will see Strong versus Fish in a 2 out of 3 falls bout and Cole versus O’Reilly in a no disqualification bout in Dallas during Supercard of Honor Weekend!

In six-man tag team action, the ROH World Tag Team Champions, War Machine (Hanson and Ray Rowe), teamed with Moose and defeated eight-time ROH World Tag Team Champions the Briscoes and Cheeseburger! In a match where Cheeseburger gave every opponent a taste of the Shotei Palm Strike, the tag team champions were finally able to notch a win over a team that has had their number, albeit in six-man competition!

With things hot, heavy, and boiling over from Ring of Honor television, Adam Page and Jonathan Gresham proved too much for B.J. Whitmer and Cedric Alexander, although the issues between Page and Whitmer and Gresham and Alexander seem to be far from over! In the night’s opening tag team match, The All Night Express, Kenny King and Rhett Titus, remained undefeated in Philadelphia since they reunited, answering the challenge of Dalton Castle and the Boys and defeating them in a handicapped match!

And finally, in what many are calling the match of the night, IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion KUSHIDA proved to be just too much for ACH in a thrilling championship match! KUSHIDA avoided the 450 and was able to wear down ACH with strikes and submissions to leave Philadelphia with his championship in hand!
