Japanese fans saw the New Japan Destruction in Kobe Pay Per View this past Sunday September 27.

“King of Strong Style,” Shinsuke Nakamura, won his record setting 5th IWGP Intercontinental Championship by defeating Hirooki Goto!

Former ROH World Tag Team Champions reDRagon retained their IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Championships by defeating The Time Splitters (KUSHIDA & Alex Shelley). These two teams are no strangers to one another as reDRagon defeated The Time Splitters last November to win their first IWGP Jr Tag Team Championships. This match up saw reDRagon come out with a renewed sense of aggression. Shelly & KUSHIDA fought valiantly but fell to Chasing the Dragon. As both teams shook hands in a show of respect, Roppongi Vice (Rocky Romero & Baretta) also joined in. In shocking fashion, Romero & Baretta would attack all four men. They left Fish laying after hitting their Strong Zero finish on a title belt. RPG Vice robbed reDRagon of a moment of celebration, much like Cole potentially robbed Kyle of winning the ROH World Championship. RPG Vice sent a clear message to reDRagon and the NJPW & ROH tag team divisions: the time for playing is over.

Another emerging story is the rise of #reborn Matt Sydal in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Sydal teamed with the legendary Ten-Koji (Hiryoshi Tenzan & Satsoshi Kojima) to defeat The Bullet Club (IWGP Jr Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega, IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson). Sydal made his debut for NJPW a short 5 days prior and put the world on notice by pinning Omega. While he did not win the championship, he has firmly placed himself in position for a shot at Omega’s title. He will have to be wary of all members of The Bullet Club hunting for him now. Sydal is currently trailing ACH 2-1 in their best of 5 series. He will want all the momentum he can gather coming back for match 4 on an upcoming episode of ROH Television. Will he be able to sweep the next 2 to win the series or can ACH catch him jet lagged and capitalize for the series win?

New Japan Pro Wrestling is heating up as things begin to build to the annual Wrestle Kingdom event onJanuary 4, 2016. Ring of Honor is red hot right now as well. As 2016 grows closer, you will want to keep a close eye on the stars of Ring of Honor heading to Japan and the stars of Japan heading to ROH!
