At a recent press event, NJPW announced details for the return of Ring of Honor stars to compete in the January 4, 2016 Wrestle Kingdom event from the Tokyo Dome as well as the annual World Tag League that runs from November 21st through the finals on December 9th.

ROH fans will get to see several top Ring of Honor competitors and familiar names as NJPW officially announced four matches for Wrestle Kingdom.

*IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Championship: reDRagon vs. The Young Bucks vs. Matt Sydal & Ricochet vs RPG Vice

These four teams redefine tag team wrestling and each team comes in with their own advantage. reDRagon are the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions while The Young Bucks are considered by some to be the uncrowned champions. The new team of Matt Sydal and Ricochet just won the Junior Tag League on November 7th at Power Struggle over Beretta and Rocky Romero but RPG Vice has beaten both the Bucks and reDRagon along the way. This match promises to be a breathtaking display of athleticism and innovation.

*IWGP Jr Heavyweight Championship: Kenny Omega vs. KUSHIDA

Can KUSHIDA regain the title from “The Cleaner” of Bullet Club? ROH fans have seen KUSHIDA win matches with his Hoverboard Lock submission while Omega has developed into one of the strongest, most well-rounded Juniors of all time in NJPW. Their match in July at the Dominion event in Osaka is a 2015 Match of the Year candidate and Omega and KUSHIDA each hold victories over one another for this title.

*IWGP Intercontinental Championship: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles

Within the span of two weeks, AJ Styles will look to do what many might consider to be unthinkable. On December 18th at Final Battle, AJ Styles wants to become ROH World Champion when he faces Jay Lethal and then on January 4th, “The Phenomenal One” will look to defeat Shinsuke Nakamura for his prestigious IWGP Intercontinental title. But both Lethal and Nakamura plan to take matters into their own hands to deny Styles his place at the top.

*IWGP Heavyweight Championship: “Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi

Two of the top wrestlers in the world and most popular in Ring of Honor face off again for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. The rivalry between these two will be covered more in-depth as ROHWrestling.com will have a preview of this monumental contest leading up to the January 4th showdown.

Ring of Honor stars compete in the 2015 World Tag League that kicks off on November 21st with the final on December 9th. After a great showing in this year’s G1 Climax singles tournament, “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin will team with Hiroshi Tanahashi in the World Tag League. This is a tremendous honor for Elgin who is excited to return to Japan where he enjoyed great success this past summer.

Also both the current and former Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions are a part of this star-studded field. In one bracket, the ROH World Tag Team champs, Michael Bennett and Matt Taven with Maria Kanellis represent the Kingdom while in the other bracket, the former champions, Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian represent the Addiction.

While fans will see Ring of Honor competitors in both Block A and B, the favorites are “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows. Victorious in 2013 and finalists last year, the Bullet Club duo enters also as the IWGP Tag Team Champions as well as; last year’s champions, Hirooki Goto and Katsuyori Shibata who look to repeat as World Tag League champs. Here are the teams in the 2015 World Tag League:

    Block A:
    Hiroshi Tanahashi & Michael Elgin
    Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma
    Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi
