The New Day vs. Adam Rose & Cesaro/Tyson Kidd
Big E, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods will face the budding alliance of Cesaro, Tyson Kidd & Adam Rose on the Royal Rumble Kickoff, airing live Sunday, Jan. 25 at 7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT.

Rose has stuck close to Cesaro & Kidd since the duo, while disguised as Rosebuds, helped him score a victory over Big E on the Jan. 5 Raw before destroying the member of The New Day. Cesaro & Kidd continued to gel together in the weeks that followed, but The New Day managed to get the better of their new rivals in the ring, including a stunning victory by Big & Kingston on the Jan. 19 Raw.

With the trios squaring off in a Six-Man Tag Team Match on the first Kickoff of 2015, though, all six Superstars hope to start the year in strong fashion.

The Royal Rumble Kickoff will also feature a panel of Renee Young, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T.

The New Age Outlaws vs. The Ascension
This Sunday at Royal Rumble, The Ascension won’t be insulting legends — they’ll be facing them.

The brash rookies have thrashed the competition and riled up the old guard since arriving in WWE, and at Royal Rumble, Viktor & Konnor will battle one of the most dominant teams of a bygone era when they take on The New Age Outlaws.

From the moment they triumphed over The Miz & Damien Mizdow in their Raw debut weeks back, The Ascension have not only been on a warpath, but they’ve also ruffled feathers by taking potshots at their predecessors, claiming to be better than pioneering pairings like Demolition, Legion of Doom and Powers of Pain.

On Raw Reunion, however, The Ascension’s trash talk seemingly caught up with them as they ran afoul of three of the Monday Night War’s most successful teams, The New World Order, The APA and The New Age Outlaws. Moments after the six legends ran Viktor & Konnor out of the ring, the WWE Universe learned Billy Gunn & Road Dogg will have the next opportunity to shut up the imposing newcomers when the two teams meet this Sunday.

For Viktor & Konnor — who counted Attitude Era team Too Cool among their victims during an incredible 11-month reign as NXT Tag Team Champions — their WWE pay-per-view debut will be nothing short of the most important battle of their careers so far. Will they back up their boasts and introduce the six-time tag team champions to their waste land? Or will the experience and knowhow of The New Age Outlaws win out against The Ascension's viciousness and raw strength?

Paige & Natalya vs. The Bella Twins
Paige says she doesn’t need any friends in the cutthroat world of Divas competition, but if she hopes to emerge victorious at Royal Rumble, she will have to put her trust in Natalya when the two dynamic Divas team to take on a common enemy: The Bella Twins.

Though their relationship has had its share of ups and downs recently (thanks in no small part to the meddlesome ways of Natalya’s husband, Tyson Kidd, who caused Paige a pivotal loss last week), The Diva of Tomorrow and The Queen of Harts seem to be united in one thing: their disdain for Divas Champion Nikki and twin sister Brie.

Since the start of 2015, Paige and Natalya have each managed to upend Nikki in non-title singles matches. In each case, their wins were partly enabled by the presence of the other at ringside. Paige neutralized Brie at ringside on the Jan. 5 edition of Raw, paving the way for Natalya to pin Nikki. The following night on Main Event, The Diva of Tomorrow scored a victory of her own over Nikki when Natalya stopped an interfering Brie.

Things hit a snag the following week when Kidd accompanied Natalya to ringside for a bout between Paige and Brie and stepped onto the ring apron, distracting Paige and causing her to lose. Afterward, the enraged raven-haired Diva insisted she didn’t need friends and called Kidd an “idiot,” but nonetheless aided Natalya in beating Nikki on SmackDown days later.

Will Paige and Natalya manage to get along when they stand across the ring from the fearless Divas Champion and her equally strategic twin sister at Royal Rumble? Will Kidd, who has seemingly taken an interest in Nikki Bella, wearing her hat and necklace, poke his nose into his wife’s business, and if so, what will that mean for The Diva of Tomorrow? And now that they’ve been identified as a common target, how will Nikki & Brie Bella react inside the ring?

The Usos(c) vs. The Miz & Damien Mizdow
The Miz & Damien Mizdow ended 2014 on a sour note, but the self-proclaimed “A-lister” and his stunt double will try to reverse their bad fortunes when they challenge WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos at Royal Rumble.

It was on the final Raw of 2014 that Jimmy & Jey Uso recaptured the titles from The Miz & Mizdow. From there, the night only grew worse for the Superstar with the moneymaker and his loyal impersonator, as they fell to the debuting Ascension, bringing their record to 0-2 for the evening.

Watch Royal Rumble on WWE Network for just $9.99!!!

With the WWE Tag Team Championship on the line Jan. 25, The Miz & Mizdow have the opportunity to not only reclaim the titles — becoming two-time champions in the process — but also upend their arch rivals. The two duos have competed in a number of highly competitive singles and tag team matches in recent months. During that time, their rivalry even seemed to entangle Jimmy’s wife Naomi, whose music career, The Miz tried convincing, would benefit from The Awesome One’s Hollywood contacts.

Heading into another heated contest, which team is primed to leave Philadelphia as the WWE Tag Team Champions? Can Jimmy & Jey — who were named the Tag Team of 2014 by the WWE Universe — keep hold of the prized titles or will the ever-sneaky Miz & Mizdow regain their momentum at the expense of WWE’s explosive tag titleholders?

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match:
Brock Lesnar(c) vs. John Cena vs. Seth Rollins
Continuing one of the most physically intense rivalries in WWE history, John Cena will attempt to capture his 16th World Title when he challenges WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnarfor sports-entertainment’s top crown at Royal Rumble 2015. However, Cena won’t be the only challenger, as the returning Authority has added Seth Rollins to the mix of what is now a Triple Threat Match for WWE’s top prize.

The championship bout was supposed to mark the final chapter in the epic rivalry between the two dominant Superstars. It would have been their third one-on-one battle since SummerSlam, where the nearly 300-pound Anomaly decimated Cena in a one-sided beatdown. The Cenation leader rebounded in a rematch the following month at Night of Champions and appeared to be on the brink of victory when Rollins interfered, leading to Lesnar’s disqualification and title retention. Rollins then attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank contract, only for Cena to foil his plans.

Cena went on to defeat Randy Orton inside Hell in a Cell in October, earning the No. 1 contendership, before leading a team of Superstars to remove The Authority from power at Survivor Series. The 15-time World Champion defended his positioning as top contender at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs … and Stairs in a Tables Match victory over Rollins.

All the while, Mr. Money in the Bank had been scheming to get Cena, the only person with the authority to do so, to put Triple H & Stephanie McMahon back in power. His devious machinations finally paid off on the last Raw of 2014, when he had his boot across the neck of WWE Hall of Famer Edge, threatening to cripple the retired Rated-R Superstar. The disgusting act left Cena with no choice but to reinstate The Authority.

As a reward for his loyalty and diligence in ushering their return, The Authority inserted Rollins into the championship match. Triple H described it as a “bonus” for The Standard Bearer.

Video preview: Lesnar, Cena prepare for the final chapter

In the midst of all this, Lesnar was waiting in the wings. The champion had been conspicuous by his absence since Night of Champions, returning on the Dec. 15, 2014, edition of Raw with Paul Heyman to aid Rollins in defeating Cena in a Steel Cage Match. The fearsome Lesnar should be well-rested and ready to show the world why he holds the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

Cena had seemingly navigated the tumultuous waters of holding onto his claim of being top contender, only for The Authority to throw a wrench in his plans for redemption. Will The Conqueror and Rollins plot to ensure Cena does not leave with his 16th World Title? Or will Lesnar’s thirst for dominance and Rollins’ desire to prove he’s the future of WWE lead to an all-out war?

    The Royal Rumble Match:
The start of a new year means new opportunities for the WWE roster, and there’s none bigger than the Royal Rumble Match. WWE’s annual over-the-top rope extravaganza is rapidly approaching, which means 30 Superstars will soon be battling it out to earn a WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match on The Grandest Stage of Them All — WrestleMania 31.

Watch Royal Rumble on WWE Network for only $9.99 per month. No commitment. Cancel any time.

The rules of the Royal Rumble Match are simple. Two Superstars will begin the match, with a new combatant entering the fray every 90 seconds. The only way a competitor can be eliminated is to be thrown over the top rope and have both feet touch the arena floor. The match’s unique rules often force Superstars to use every fiber in their being to hang on to the ropes and remain in the bout, or come up with creative, sometimes gravity-defying ways of avoiding the ground.

The following Superstars have already been named official entrants in this year’s 30-Superstar brawl:
    • Roman Reigns
    • Daniel Bryan
    • United States Champion Rusev
    • Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett
    • Bray Wyatt
    • Dean Ambrose
    • Goldust
    • Stardust
    • Big Show
    • Kane
    • The Miz
    • Damien Mizdow
    • R-Truth
    • Dolph Ziggler
    • Ryback
    • Fandango
    • Luke Harper

Who will leave Philadelphia with the ultimate prize? Whose Road to WrestleMania 31 will begin on the highest note? Find out at the 2015 Royal Rumble, airing live Sunday, Jan. 25, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on WWE Network and pay-per-view!

  3. I'm very excited for this rumble ppv.

-Roman will win the Rumble. I would love for Bryan to win it....but I see Roman moving forward as of now. Hope they're the final 2.
-Brock will retain the title by pinning Seth Rollins. Cena will hit Brock with an AA after the match because Brock will try to attack them both...Then, Seth will nail Cena with the briefcase. Then Curb Stomp Lesner. He will go to cash in and then you will hear Sting's crow...Sting will get into the ring and beat the crap out of Rollins, nailing a Stinger. Big Show and Kane will come down and Sting will use his bat to beat the crap out of both of them as well. This will cause an enraged Triple H to come down to the ring; much like we viewed at Survivor Series back in 2014. The crowd will begin to chant, "This is Awesome." Triple H will look hesitant as Sting just glares at him. Triple H will then slowly leave the ring and back down...saying, "your time is coming, Sting....you want to mess with me, you got it...." This will lead Triple H to challenge Sting to a match at Mania the next night on Raw and the feud will begin.

  4. So, there are 4 tag team matches? Awesome. I don't give a damn about either of 'em.

Pumped for the WWE-WHC Triple-Threat match and the Royal Rumble, though. Everything else seems meh.

  5. I know that the hate will probably start flying all over the place and no small amount of it will be aimed at Reigns himself. Personally, I think that'd be a mistake because it's not his fault. I agree with the notion that he's not nearly ready yet, at the same time, I completely understand Reigns' position and I think I'm not the only one. If I was on the WWE roster, had only been in wrestling for a small handful of years and Vince McMahon came up to me and told me "I want you to win the Royal Rumble and main event WrestleMania", you think my goofy ass is gonna say "I appreciate it boss, but I'm not ready for the spot"??? HHHHHEEEEELLLLL NO I'M NOT GOING TO SAY THAT!!!!! Even if I personally told myself that I wasn't ready and that I felt there were other guys more deserving, I'm sure as shit not gonna say that out loud to anybody. Nobody, and I mean nobody, in his right mind would say he didn't want the main event at WrestleMania. Nobody in his right mind would say he didn't want to be WWE World Heavyweight Champion whether they personally think they're ready or not. Why? Because we'd all want that bigger paycheck, the jacked up level of stardom & fame, the various perks that can go along with being in that spot. If Roman Reigns wins Sunday, every man in that locker room would trade spots with him faster than Chyna can deepthroat a Kielbasa. I'll be personally disappointed if he wins, but I'm not gonna slam the guy. I might slam Vince McMahon for the decision, but not Reigns. Another thing. We as fans have been known to take our dislike and venom out on the superstar in question, when it's often just a guy doing his job. Sometimes I wonder how many of us yell at customer service people. You know, it's actually kind of funny to me that the wrestlers take the whiplash from fans for poor choices by the creative team. Back to my customer service analogy, I'm betting many of us in the past have gotten the brunt end of a client's dissatisfaction due to a choice made by someone higher up the ladder. Ultimately, we take it out on the person who's directly in front of us, and forget about the "man behind the curtain." We as fans need a mechanism in which we can boo the creative team. Might I suggest a "Vince Is Out Of Touch" chant to the tune of "Joe's Gonna Kill You".

  6. I don't mind reigns winning at all. I feel that he's ready enough. Stupid argument to make.

  7. Haven't really been hyped for a PPV for awhile this one seems like it should be pretty good on paper, hopefully they have a couple other surprises in there to satisfy fans including myself..

  8. Im hyped for this ppv too there's so many possibilities that could happen in both of the main matches im hoping rollins walks out with the belt also hope there's some sort of interaction between sting and hhh or maybe taker returns at the rumble and eliminates wyatt (or maybe wyatt eliminates taker)

  9. tbh, i don´t want to see taker-wyatt feuding anytime soon, i just don´t see them at the same level

  10. 17 spots have been confirmed in the Royal Rumble match, the previous number was 2 but (thankfully IMO) Diego, Fernando & Justin Gabriel are not apart of the updated list.. The wrestlers confirmed at the moment are the following roster members; Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns, Rusev, Bad News Barrett, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Stardust, Goldust, Big Slow, Kane, Miz, Sandow, R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler, Fandango, Ryback and Luke Harper..

    This leaves 13 spots remaining.

Randy Orton, Sheamus, Bo Dallas are 3 returning from injury/time off that I picture being in there so that's 20.. leaving 10 left to play with.. My guesses for the final spots are: Sting, Bubba Ray, Devon, Kevin Nash, Rey Mysterio, Y2J, Christian, Kofi, Adrian Neville, RVD.

While I agree that it would be nonsensical for Reigns to turn down a championship push, I completely disagree that he should be free of criticism for not being ready for that push. There are plenty of wrestlers out there who have been active for as long as Reigns or shorter who are ready. There isn't some magical period of time a wrestler has to prepare before they are ready for a main event push. A wrestler's performance is directly the result of their work ethic and Reigns has had plenty of time to develop that. Regardless of who is responsible for the push, Reigns is directly responsible for the level of performance and thus deserving of the criticism.

I, in turn, spent many years in food service, retail and as a escalated call supervisor in a call center. I've also been a customer. More often than not, criticism lobbied at me was for my performance not for things I had no control over. Did I get situations like the one you described? Of course. But they weren't all of them.

At the end of the day, Reigns is responsible for his work ethic and performance. Management is responsible for pushing someone despite their ability. Both Reigns and the WWE are thus open and deserving of the criticism for pushing him too early.

  12. Who else will be here tomorrow night for the LD? I'll be watching on the network.
