WWE taped the March 14, 2014 WWE SmackDown episode from the Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas.
    WWE SmackDown

    * Michael Cole, JBL and Lilian Garcia are out first.

    * SmackDown kicks off with Sheamus vs. Heath Slater with Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal at ringside. Sheamus gets the win with a Brogue Kick in just over 5 minutes. 3MB tried to get involved but had no luck.

    * Triple H comes out to big heel heat and no Stephanie McMahon. He announces that Daniel Bryan isn’t here and taunts the Bryan fans. Lots more boos when he says Bryan won’t be here tonight. Triple H says he’s not happy with the fans for what happened on RAW and says he’s taking away their happiness starting now. Triple H vows to destroy the Yes Movement at WrestleMania XXX. Triple H says Bryan has no chance just like the fans. Triple H says Bryan won’t earn a spot in the WWE World Heavyweight Title match and there won’t be a happy ending this year for Bryan fans. Triple H calls out Damien Sandow and isn’t happy with him for not getting in the ring against Bryan and the fans on RAW. Sandow begs for forgiveness.

    * Sandow vs. Seth Rollins is up next. Rollins gets the quick win with his finisher. Sandow leaves the ring but Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns roll him back in for a triple powerbomb.

    * Big E squashed Fandango in under 2 minutes.

    * We get a recap of the segment with Paul Heyman and The Undertaker from RAW. Bad News Barrett comes out and says The Streak will die at WrestleMania, leading to kids crying and keeping their parents up all night. This will lead to parents losing their jobs.

    * Cody Rhodes and Goldust defeat Jack Swagger and Cesaro. More tension between The Real Americans here. Goldust gets taken out and they double team Cody until The Usos make the save.

    * Kofi Kingston vs. Bray Wyatt is up next. The Wyatt Family came out to the pop of the night. Good back and forth match with near falls at the end. Bray gets the win with an impressive Sister Abigail.

    * Backstage segment with Kane and The Shield. He orders them to be at ringside for tonight’s main event but they say they don’t take orders from Kane. They’ll be out there any way because it’s what’s best for business.

    * Nikki Bella vs. Tamina Snuka is up next. Brie Bella is at ringside and AJ Lee is on commentary. Nikki gets the quick win with her finisher.

    * Dolph Ziggler defeated Alberto Del Rio in a lengthy back and forth match. After the match, Renee Young interviews Ziggler in the middle of the ring. Ziggler brags about beating Del Rio twice in a row and always stealing the show. Ziggler enters himself into the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania. Ziggler says he’s been waiting for his WrestleMania moment and it will come when he wins the Andre trophy. The crowd was cheering for Ziggler big time.

    * Carlos Colon is announced for the WWE Hall of Fame.

    * The Wyatt Family cuts a promo on the match with John Cena at WrestleMania.

    * Kane finds The Shield backstage and brings them to the ring with him.

    * Lana and Alexander Rusev come out to the stage for another segment like the one on RAW.

    * Kane vs. Big Show is next in the main event. The Shield are at ringside. Show gets the win with a chokeslam. After the match, Kane yells at The Shield for watching him lose. Kane grabs Rollins for a chokeslam but Reigns breaks it up with a big spear. The Shield stand together over Kane as SmackDown ends.

  2. Really? That's the card, Squash match and Show vs Kane, how many times have we seen that?

  4. ^Ziggler Mark Lol

Is Ziggler's punishment over now? Can he finally get back to the upper-mid card scene again?
  5. You say that like its a bad thing
  6. Ain't no bad thing, Cena Mark, that's a bad thing
  7. I haven't seen RAW yet but I know about some things - but apparently Sandow didn't help, he got sent out to be destroyed by the Shield... either he's going to turn face, join a disgruntled tag team with Miz or he's just getting buried even more.
  8. This seems like it will be your average (barely) weekly Smackdown instalment. Four squash matches and a lacklustre main event :( Kane vs. Big Show has been seen by us all many times over the past 15 years, this is simply not a main event on any show. Pretty happy for Rollins to be picking up some clean singles victories. Looks like I will probably miss Smackdown for the second week in a row as there just is not an awful lot to get excited about.

Side note: Ok, can Kane stop wearing that shitty attire? I understand he is Corporate Kane but does he have to wrestle in a white wife-beater and smart black trousers? It is a little soul-destroying, the guy is 46 years old give him something more comfortable to wear. :upset:.
  9. So, The Shield are 100% babyface now? Starting to get the feeling they won't have that triple threat at Mania.

  10. I know, right? Ziggler winning AND talking... Sandow even being on the show... This HAS to be a parallel universe version of Smackdown! You and Sharpy must be in heaven!
  11. They attack one heel (on Triple H's orders) and you automatically think their match against one another (especially after last week's Smackdown promo with one another) is off? Feuding with the Wyatts didn't stop anyone from believing that The Shield were breaking apart and facing one another, so neither should this.
  12. The main reason the triple threat match looks less likely is that they showed no dissension in The Shield on RAW or, by the looks of it, this week's SD. We haven't seen Reigns and Ambrose get angry with each other in weeks, have we?

In addition, it's not one heel. They played the face team against The Wyatts, Rollins faced Sandow on this SD, and now they attack Kane.

Don't know what they've got planned for The Shield from now on. Debuting a new stable to face them after Mania possibly.
  13. Also, haven't they just announced a triple threat for Mania, and obviously they'd be reluctant to do two? I'd bet that they all enter the Andre the Giant battle royal, Reigns wins it, and Ambrose and Rollins turn on him the next night on RAW.
  14. I saw their booking on Raw as making it look like they're finally back on the same page only for everything to then fall apart for them for good. They've exorcised one 'demon' (defeating the Rhodes brothers) and the next demon they'll likely try to conquer will probably be a third and final match with the Wyatt Family. They'll be on the same page and will be one as a unit and motivate and fire themselves up in a backstage segment before the match, ready to bring the fight to the Wyatts with the same force and aggression that they brought to everyone else back when they were an unstoppable trio in 2013... but ultimately, they fail to pull out a victory and somehow it leads to the end of The Shield.

I know WWE likely doesn't want two triple threat matches at Wrestlemania, but if you spread the two matches apart, I see no issue with it. Even if they all enter the Andre Memorial Battle Royal, they'll still break up afterwards so their demise as a group is still on the horizon.
  15. Damn good match and promo too... I really enjoyed watching it.

Prolly should've capitalized on a baby face turn for Sandow after Triple H punished him like that.
But you know me; that's just my wishful thinking.

Some great facial expressions from Damien when the Shield's music hit; he knew what was up almost immediately.

I know the result was a loss for Sandow but it was still great to see him wrestle on one of the two main shows. I'm glad he was special enough for a triple powerbomb :) Also I think all the losses have helped him become a better seller for other people's moves, made Rollins victory look pretty clean, minus the intimidation tactics.
  17. Between this win and the Aaron Paul thing, this actually counts as a Ziggler winning streak.

  18. "We won a game yesterday. If we win one today, that will be two in a row. That's called a winning streak. It has happened before."

    --Lou Brown,
    Major League

(Not really a point to the quote; just when I read your post, it's what went through my mind)

As to what I'm here to talk about, does anybody else get the serious feeling they're working a slow-burn face turn for Sandow. I'm not saying this just to make Sharpy smile. I really do wonder if that's the direction they're going with him.

  20. Think about it, though.

Ziggler, Miz, Sandow, Ryder: They've all been getting "buried" in the last few months, not on television and, when they are, they get killed, sometimes by the Shield or other "Authority" types. Couple this with the news that there will be a new stable and that Sandow (even though he's a heel) got something of a face reaction on Monday (most DB fans also like Ziggler and Sandow, even if they're not as big on Miz or Ryder), it just leads me to think they're going to turn him face.
