Steve Austin Predicts CM Punk Will Make His WWE Return At WrestleMania XXX!

  1. On the latest edition of his “Steve Austin Show” podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin predicted and said he hopes CM Punk returns at this Sunday’s WrestleMania XXX show, which takes place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, and airs live on the WWE Network.
“I’m telling you, I’m going to stick to my prediction that CM Punk is going to make his return at WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans,” Austin said. “I made this prediction two months ago here on the show. It’s been a long time, I think he’s cooled his jets, he’s got some rest, and I think it’s time to get back to work.”
Austin continued, “I don’t see him participating in a match but it would be great to see him in a run-in to establish himself, to entrench himself immediately in a memorable and just a great moment, and I would say plant himself firmly in the middle of an angle, because he would be the angle, by attacking whoever he sees fit to attack or asserting his presence rather, whatever the case may be.”
“The Rattlesnake” concluded, “But I see CM Punk coming back at WrestleMania 30. Who knows if it will happen. We will know in about six short days when WrestleMania actually happens.”

  2. Austin's last two predictions didn't exactly pan out (that Fandango would become Intercontinental Champion in six months and that Punk would return before Wrestlemania XXX), and I don't expect this one to either. Don't see it happening, nor do I want it to.

  3. It's easy just to keep saying CM Punk is returning before each "string of events" oh CM Punk is returning before WM, oh nvm now it's after, oh wait now it's at Summer slam lol.

  4. Not happening.

  7. Honestly, I would mark if heel Punk cost DB the WWE title somehow.

  8. I've always thought that Punk would be a perfect corporate champion, it's the whole selling out concept which would fit so well. His look and actions are so counter corporate him falling into line could be sold really well.

  9. Ala him Summer of Punk v.1.0 I guess? The suit, the dickishness, off to finer things etc.

  10. Yep the **** of Personality combined with his holier than thou attitude from the SES.

  11. Hehe...**** of personality.

Too bad there ain't something he can sign a contract for on the WWE belt like when he signed his WWE one on the ROH belt.

  12. Honestly, people are trying to take his "2nd up" spot hopefully he does come back because i think CM Punk is an entertaining asset.

  13. People still care about this CM punk crap?

  14. That's probably the one "fantasy booking fan theory" that has 0 currency, but it should, if for no other reason than that it would be entertaining as hell.

  15. Didn't Fandango get hurt? It seemed like he was on that path before an injury Ziggler'ed him.
And thought the two sides were close to an agreement before the Chicago show (although every single Punk report contradicts each other) so maybe his predictions may have had some truth to them even though they didn't pan out.

it's time for us Punk fans to just move on in whichever direction we desire to move on to. No use living in the past, that's how shit like the Band happens.

  16. I don't remember any sort of serious Fandango injury. I could be wrong, but I always just assumed it was a case where Vince was high on him at first but then got bored and decided to move on to something else (which he's known to do often.) Or maybe it was the decision to kill the Triple H/Curtis Axel feud and push Axel in the midcard instead given that Axel won the strap in the very match that Fandango was likely originally going to win it in at Payback. Either or.

And Punk wouldn't even speak to WWE officials (and still hasn't, at least that we know of) and that's why Vince was so infuriated with him (according to reports, anyway) for going on The Talking Dead show in Los Angeles, the feeling being that if Punk can bother flying down to LA to appear on a talk show, then the least he could have done was drive down to the arena when they were in his hometown of Chicago and talk to them about what his status with WWE was.

I agree that neither of Austin's predictions weren't bad per se, just saying his luck with calling things hasn't exactly been stellar thus far. More to the point though, the whole "Is CM Punk gonna show up...?" stuff is kind of tired. If Punk ever does return (which I think is likely to happen at some point), it probably won't be this year, and I'm already past the point of caring when, where or if he shows up again or not anyway.

  17. I plan to still be predicting CM Punk's return in 2025.

  18. I would lose my mind if this happened. It would save the whole PPV regardless of whatever else went down.
