AEW touted one of the top independent wrestlers in the world for Cody’s TNT Championship Open Challenge on July 22. That person is independent no more.
Eddie Kingston made a huge impression both on the microphone and during his No DQ match with the Executive Vice-President, trending on Twitter during Dynamite. He remained a topic of conversation after the show thanks to an emotional fallout interview.
Today (July 31), AEW announced they’d signed the 18 year veteran to a contract.
Kingston’s spent time in Chikara, CZW, Ring of Honor, TNA/Impact, MLW, and most recently the NWA during a career that started in 2002. This is by far the highest profile gig he’s had.
Congrats Mad King. Watch your back, MJF.
