Episode 64 of AEW Dark featured Scorpio Sky showing his mean side, the return of Shanna, and Jurassic Express picking up a quality win.

Here’s the Dark lineup with ratings (watch, solid, okay, pass) on which matches are worth your time toward Dynamite:

  • Shawn Spears vs KTB (okay)
  • Damian Fenrir vs Ricky Starks (okay)
  • Danny Limelight vs Brandon Cutler (okay)
  • Jon Cruz vs Peter Avalon (okay)
  • Shanna vs Tesha Price (okay)
  • KiLynn King vs Katalina Perez (okay)
  • Adam Priest & Sean Maluta vs Best Friends (okay)
  • Leva Bates vs Alex Gracia (okay)
  • Angel Fashion, VSK, & Shawn Donovan vs The Gunn Club (okay)
  • Aaron Solow vs Matt Sydal (solid)
  • Evil Uno & Stu Grayson vs. Fuego Del Sol & Baron Black (okay)
  • Griff Garrison & Brian Pillman Jr. vs Cezar Bononi & Ryzin (okay)
  • Lindsay Snow vs Ivelisse (okay)
  • George South Jr & Bobby Wayward vs The Acclaimed (okay)
  • Chaos Project vs Alex Chamberlain & Seth Gargis (okay)
  • Lady Frost vs Red Velvet (okay)
  • 5 & 10 vs Jurassic Express vs Sonny Kiss & Joey Janela (solid)

The main event tag team three-way was the most exciting by far. Sydal versus Solow was my favorite of the bunch. Shanna looked good in her return to AEW. Limelight versus Cutler had quality competitiveness. Scorpio Sky provided a relevant pop-in during Spears’ match.

Watch the show here.

Excalibur teamed with Taz to call the action. Anthony Ogogo and Ricky Starks dropped by to join commentary. Justin Roberts was the ring announcer.

Shawn Spears defeated KTB. Tully Blanchard was ringside. During the contest, Scorpio Sky’s music hit, and he made his way to the stage to observe the action. Sky had the piece of steel that Spears’ uses to load his black glove. Even though Sky’s mind games took Spears’ focus away from his opponent, Spears still made quick work of KTB with a Sharpshooter.

Afterward, Sky took Spears’ words last week to heart and showed that he too can be mean. Sky hit the innocent KTB with a TKO. Sky exited without getting physical with Spears.

Later in the show, Alex Marvez asked Sky for a response to Spears’ statement that there will be no rematch. Sky left without speaking.

Ricky Starks defeated Damian Fenrir. Rochambeau for the win.

Brandon Cutler defeated Danny Limelight. Cutler had to show grit and perseverance to pick up his fifth win in a row. Limelight brought the pain, especially when countering a suicide dive into an armbar on the floor. Back in the ring, Cutler caught a flying crossbody for his TPK finisher.

Peter Avalon defeated Jon Cruz. Avalon also had a little bit of trouble. He quickly turned it around with a fireman’s carry facebuster then a running double knees to drive Cruz’s head into the mat. That marks Avalon’s second win in a row.

Shanna defeated Tesha Price. This was Shanna’s return to AEW after an 8-month absence due to COVID travel restrictions. Shanna exploded for a stunner, running dropkick, then a bridging tiger suplex for victory.

KiLynn King defeated Katalina Perez. King cleaned Perez’s clock with a missile dropkick, release German suplex, then a forward slamming facebuster variation.

Best Friends defeated Adam Priest & Sean Maluta. Orange Cassidy was ringside. The Best Friends handled business and closed it with a hug then two separate piledrivers to Priest for Chuck Taylor to pick up the pin.

Leva Bates defeated Alex Gracia. Bates was on the attack with near falls on a bridging northern lights suplex and a backstabber. Bates was victorious via three-quarter nelson pin. Afterward, Bates handed Gracia a copy of the Young Bucks’ new book.

Gunn Club defeated Angel Fashion, VSK, & Shawn Donovan. The Gunn family mocked Taz by wearing towels over their heads and walking a strongman strut. Austin won with a hip toss neckbreaker.

Matt Sydal defeated Aaron Solow. Sydal used creative pins, kicks, and submissions to gain the advantage. A roundhouse kick then a rocking cradle slam closed it out.

Evil Uno & Stu Grayson defeated Fuego Del Sol & Baron Black. Dark Order roughhoused the competition. Uno cleaned it up with a flatliner to Fuego.

Griff Garrison & Brian Pillman Jr. defeated Cezar Bononi & Ryzin. Garrison had an impressive belly-to-belly superplex. The blondes picked up the win on an assisted flying neckbreaker.

Ivelisse defeated Lindsay Snow. La Sicaria was too experienced for Snow. Ivelisse often had an escape or a kick to counter at the ready. A snapmare into a head kick turned out Snow’s lights for the three count.

The Acclaimed defeated George South Jr & Bobby Wayward. Max Caster spit rhymes about slamming moms. He waited for Anthony Bowens to step in the ring before acting tough. The Acclaimed once again backed up their trash-talk with a suplex into a flying elbow drop combo.

Chaos Project defeated Alex Chamberlain & Seth Gargis. Serpentico was tired of Luther slamming him as a battering ram, so he tried to reverse the roles. Serpentico didn’t have the muscle to lift Luther. Chaos Project found success with their assisted flying double knees finisher.

Red Velvet defeated Lady Frost. Velvet rallied for a bulldog, overhead toss, and a single-leg running dropkick to win.

Jurassic Express defeated 5 & 10 and Sonny Kiss & Joey Janela in a three-way. The main event was hectic with fast-paced craziness. They took out a cameraman, for crying out loud. Jurassic Express won with an assisted powerbomb for Jungle Boy to pin 5.

Brooding Scorpio Sky has me intrigued, although, that TKO was a jerk move. It would be funny if this was the long payoff to Spears finally finding a tag team partner in Sky, however, I’d much prefer a babyface Sky resorting to mind games to earn a rematch. Will this lead to a steel slug on a pole match?

Shanna was impressive. She was smooth with no rust in her return. AEW should rush a build for a TV title shot against Hikaru Shida while they have Shanna on hand. A couple of wins for momentum, a #1 contender multi-women mishmash, and we’re all set.

Danny Limelight was the enhancement star of the evening. Hanging with Brandon Cutler doesn’t say much in the kayfabe pecking order, but it was more about his attitude and style of moves that resonated.
