WrestleMania Being on Wrestlemania should be a CHALLENGE

I mentioned this as well as Mr. Roman Empire Mr. Roman Empire .

When it comes to Wrestlemania, it is like the WWE's Super Bowl. It is THEE event to want to be at for wrestlers and fans alike. When you push to stack the card and make sure nearly every wrestler is at the event, it dilutes it. It takes away from the prestige of the event. It makes it feel less valuable and more attainable. To me, the greatest things in life should be fought for, earned, and the ones who make it deserve to be respected for what they did to reach whatever they worked so hard to reach. Handing out matches for the sake of making everyone feel included is just stupid. It is like a participation trophy. Why would you want to be included in something where you did nothing to earn the spot for it? Why would you want to be praised for making it "THAT far" if you didn't have to work or put in the time? There is a reason people who win millions get bored with life. Once you take out the struggles and make things easier, everything seems less valuable.

They are ruining Wrestlemania because of this. At least to me. I am sure some of you are just fine with it and don't care so long as there are good matches but I watch for story lines, drama, overcoming struggle, and achievements. At the very least, I want to see the struggle to gain achievements. It should be an honor to have a match at this event. It should show you earned it with your hard work, determination, and winning over the fans.

Maybe I am too old fashioned? I don't know. Just wanted to vent a bit. I understand not everyone will feel this way but I do and it sucks. lol

Its certainly an event that has turned into a giant participation trophy. The Andre the Giant Battle Royal, 8 man tag title matches, Fatal 5 way womens title matches, 7 man Intercontinental title ladder matches, and the list goes on...

I hear you, Snake but I also slightly understand why they do it as recently over the past like 6 or 7 years now. I believe it would be better warranted if they were giving these other wrestlers storylines because it the end none of the "extra" matches mean anything. I mean look at the whole Andre The Giant trophy, it never pays off (in my opinion)...there need to be better stakes/rewards like if you win these battle royals then you're the next contender for title shot of your choosing and you get to pick any type of match. I hate that WWE doesn't attempt to be more creative with their power.

If they had story lines that were worth closing at Mania, sure but most of the story lines (some even for the belts) are just not well thought out, deep, or just pointless. They have too many wrestlers so even the top story lines end up getting watered down because you can only fit so much into a 3/2 hour weekly show when you have this many wrestlers in your rotation. I am hoping they lose a good chunk of them to AEW. Give them some competition and give wrestlers in the States more options.

It's still unfair.. There's many talents in WWE who work their ass off and WWE chooses to ignore it.

Guys will get over, put on great matches consistantly and WWE does nothing about it.. They will keep them at the bottom of the card, because dumbass creative has no ideas for them.. Those guys shouldn't be punished because creative has been fuckin with them all year.

technically you're right. Being on Mania should feel like a bigger deal than on any regular card, but with the roster they currently have it's damn near impossible to leave people out. The only talent you'd be able to leave out would be the jobbers and those are taken care of in both of the battle royals, which are usually on the preshow anyways. So I don't see what I'd get rid of on the main show. If you look at last year's Mania card, pretty much every match had a justified reason to be there, so in my opinion it just has to do with the growth of their rosters.
If they keep on signing so many damn wrestlers, the only other option will be turning Mania into a 2-night event. He hasn't officially said it yet, but Triple H would probably want separate Manias for each continent one day, as part of their globalization goal, so this only feels like the beginning to me.

One thing that semi-pisses me off though, is when literally everyone has a special Mania attire. It's not special anymore when jobber #12 in battle royal #2 has a zany Mania attire, just like the rest on the card. Get over yourself and bring out the special attires when you're actually important enough for them

Summerslam 2018 left out so many guys on the roster. Just do that but for Mania. I don't mind big battle royals. Orton AJ Kurt Drew Cena Roman the tag division can all be in the battle Royal.

Battle Royal with not just jobbers. Boom your problem is doubt with

In a company so focused on the bottom line, the "Wrestlemania payday" used to reflect this. You justify us putting you on Wrestlemania, we'll give you this hefty bonus. I'm surprised they're cramming as many people as possible on the show that draws the most lol

Snake and Snow make good points. They do cram people for the payday. Take into account the Wrestlemania moment when Zack Ryder climbed the ladder to win the IC belt.

The talent themselves want to work that date, I'm sure. McMahon is granting them that. Pretty sure if every wrestler on the planet were honest, they'd prefer to work Wrestlemania at least once

I get that this sucks for the viewer, just figure I'd toss in another perspective.

It's a bit of a joke when they make a big deal about trying to get to Wrestlemania. Was it last year, John Cena was trying to punch his ticket and win a way to WM. Did anyone really think Cena wouldn't be at WM?

If I may add one more thing it's that... Whenever you look at anything WWE-related, you have to look at the bottom line. They're a company about making money - surprise surprise - more so than either pro wrestling or sports entertaiment. That's why they used the last 4 Wrestlemania main events spotlighting a human action figure.

Wrestlemania is a weird animal nowadays to where the name draws itself, it's going to get a giant bump in network buys and the show sells out before the card is announced, so business-wise it's best to just use it to spotlight wrestlers for newer fans as opposed to it being the "grand season finale" we dream of it being (on top of them having the chance to go on a conference call like "Guess what y'all! Network viewership's up! We can charge more for ads since people will see them longer!" Lets make it 19 matches next year to artificially inflate numbers even more because Cheez-Its don't know a damn thing about wrestling!"

That's why I call it "the card that matters the least". There's probably a few big matches they need to save to sell Backlash in May and make that show a big deal. You use Wrestlemania to make AJ Styles and Seth Rollins look awesome to new viewers to have those two fight at the top of that card then when you really need to boost sales and tickets... and not use it to put out an incredible video package on the history of AJ Styles just to watch him job to Jericho for no damn reason
