Earlier this week, Hulk Hogan’s ex-wife Linda caught a ban from AEW President Tony Khan for being racist on Twitter. In responding to her ugly (and lazily stereotypical) tweet, Khan revealed that the WWE Hall of Famer was already banned.
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed with Khan exactly why the Hulkster is banned. And just in case you thought maybe it was over the Fingerpoke of Doom or something, Khan explained:
That last bit is a shot at Hogan’s speech to the WWE locker room after he was brought back into the fold, which was said to be as much about “be careful because they’re always watching” as it was an apology.“What he said on the tape, long before George Floyd, I’ve told people I can’t work with Hulk Hogan. How can I look my Black friends, football players, employees in the face or myself in the mirror after the things he said and has never given an adequate apology for. He can’t blame what he said on tape on the dangers of social media.”
Anyway... now you know.
