Is RAW still PG?

  1. WWE Forums is giving away a copy of WWE 2K18 for any platform! More info: WWE 2K18 Giveaway (PS4, Xbox One, Steam)
  1. I'm convinced in recent weeks its gotten more violent with more swearing. Is this just pushing the boundaries a little or are they getting a little more freedom with the broadcasting? I'm not convinced they are gonna move away but it certainly seems like we are seeing more weapons, swearing and a slightly more mature content mixed in with the rest.
  2. I assume that they still are. I think they are pushing their boundaries if anything though. I'm sure they'll continue to do this more, maybe sometime in the future the PG rating will disappear, but for now I'm sure the rating will stay.
  3. Their rating at the top left hand screen on Raw still says TV-PG as does their website so I would say Yes.

This is actually what I and several others have been saying all along in defense of the PG rating - that you can still push the boundaries a bit and have 'mature' situations and story lines under the PG banner. This is proof of that, and I've been noticing that swearing has been making it's way back onto the shows more and more since last year. Cena and Punk both said "bitch" during the build to WM28 as well as later in 2012. This is what the official guidelines are for a PG rating:

"This program contains material that parents may find unsuitable for younger children. Many parents may want to watch it with their younger children. The theme itself may call for parental guidance and/or the program may contain one or more of the following: some suggestive dialogue (D), infrequent coarse language (L), some sexual situations (S), or moderate violence (V)."

Nothing so far suggests an abandonment of the PG rating. Although I really fail to see the issue with TV-14. It's the equivalent of a PG-13 movie, not an R rated one (that's TV-MA), so I don't see the problem but meh.
  4. Just on this topic do any of the ppl with kids on here have issues with the content if they are or will watch with their kids?

If I had children I think I'd be ok as you obviously explain it's a story like a film, book or play and the wrestlers are just characters. But I know some ppl may not like it just wondered views? Danielson and Senhor Perfect you both have kids.
  5. Definitely still PG. WWE will be PG for as long as they have a contract with Mattel.

  6. Funny you mention that. My 7 year old watched the opening segment with me on Monday. She was upset that DB was being "bullied" and that the belt was his. She asked me why the belt was important and why everyone wanted it. Then when DB got attacked she asked if he was really hurt or just pretending. I told her that it's all make believe and its just like a movie, she understood and was entranced by the whole scenario. However, I have to be honest, if there was anything with sexual connotations associated with it, I would change the channel for sure.

  7. Of course they are but at least their product is better right now imo.
  8. PG = Parental Guidance
Some foul language or mature content might happen intentionally or unintentionally. They don't push for it though because of all the sponsors they've gotten.

  9. Wow man wtf. 7 year olds shouldn't know wrestling is fake! You gotta tell them its real.

Life doesn't get any better than when you still thought wrestling was real.
  10. Can't do that. She'd get too upset if she thought someone was being beat up for real.
  11. Today's youth. What a bunch of ninnies.
