CM Punk made his debut proper on WWE Backstage this evening and, of course, Renee Young asked him about a possible return to a WWE ring to actually wrestle a match. His response:
That’s more or less what he’s said before, though never going so far as to say WWE will have to put work in to mend fences to make a reunion possible. We’ve seen that before with the likes of Bruno Sammartino and Ultimate Warrior, though, and there’s no reason to believe we won’t see the same here.“So, regardless of what my answer is there’s somebody that’s always going to be upset with it, right? As I said, I’ve stated I work for FOX. I haven’t talked to anybody in WWE. It’s nothing that I’m actively pursuing or interested in. But I’m 41-years-old and I’ve lived and experienced life where I know to not say ‘no.’ But that’s going to be a bridge that is going to have to be built and it might take as long as building the Great Wall of China. There are some hurdles there.”
After all, a wrestler actually staying away would be the exception, not the rule.
