Buddy. Motherfuckin. Murphy.

How much more perfect can it get? Was probably an 8 for the first two hours. Dropped to like a 6 with that stupid contract signing. But man, how incredible was all the Buddy Murphy stuff in that last hour? And I can watch that GIF/optical illusion of KO learning to fly all day long and still not fully comprehend how exactly that works xD

0/10 on the recap this week, though. Tsk tsk, Insane. :P

And you wonder why i question your thought process on rating shows?

First you say it was perfect, then you said the show was around an 8/10 for the first 2 hours, then you said it dropped to a 6/10 with the stupid contract signing But then said the last hour was incredible, and that SOMEHOW makes it 10/10? how does that even make sense? a 10/10 is a flawless show but you very clearly stated the flaws of the show, hell you said at one point it was 6/10 so how the hell can it be 10/10 a flawless show when there was obviously stuff you ddint like for once? like a 9/10 sure that atleast can make sense, but 10/10?

I really dont get your logic friend.

Every WWE show is a 10/10 for him and every AEW show is 0/10. You should know this by now

How many 6 or 7 star matches have there been on the Meltzer scale? We're any of those 5 matches "flawless"? I see a 10/10, at least when it comes to Raw, as a show that was good enough that I'd consider going back to out of my way to rewatch.

A match rating and a show rating and two different discussions. 10/10 is a rating that, for these shows, would indicate you loved everything about it, damn near flawless. There is nothing better then 10/10, thats it, period. Thats the highest standered a show can reach.

Jeffry, nobody complains about a show talking about how the first 2 hours (THATS MAJORITY OF THE SHOW) was a 8 out of 10, then went to a 6 out of 10 because of a contract signing and STILL rate it 10/10 just because they liked the last hour, nobody does that. You dont just ignore the shit you said yourself you didnt like.

10/10 is for shows that are either damn near perfect, damn near flawless, or just really damn great with basicly no issues, but based on your own words raw was NOT a 10/10, it was at best a 8/10 or a 9/10, you dont just cherry pick what you like, you consider everything that happened.

There's nothing better than a 5 star match either, considering that it's a 5/5. Yet we still have 7 star matches on record...

Using that logic, it can be fair to deduct that a show grade could be an average of all combined grades, however the rater wants to break that down. First 2 hours were an 8 in this case, and if that was the whole show, it would've stayed an 8. The contract signing sucked, easily a 4, so let's see... 8 + 4 is 12, and 12 divided by 2 is 6. But then the last 45-minutes or so, with everything involving Buddy Murphy (not JUST because of him, but for sake of shortening it, everything great in the end just happened to include him), that would probably rank as an 18 out of 10. So 18 + 8 + 4 would be 30, divided by 3, which gives an average show ranking of 10 out of ten.

Now obviously, I don't think the last few segments would score an 18/10. But as an example of how someone could come up with that, while also using the numbers I provided. Now doesn't Meltzer seem sorta silly? Because the sad thing is, is that it would somehow actually make sense to him giving something an 18/10.

Look, I think the show was a 10/10. A near perfect episode of Raw, that I would hope they more or less use as a template for future episodes. That's what we're rating things on after all, right? Our opinions? Or did I miss the section with the detailed scoresheets that detail exactly how to break down Raw, exactly what kind of score to give for certain things or how many points to take away for other certain things, etc. Like, shit dude, maybe I have no idea how to give my opinion on something, specifically wrestling. Can you give me pointers on what I should and shouldn't be enjoying when I watch? Maybe I've been liking all the wrong things the past 27 years of being a fan. Please, help me be a REAL fan so that my score of what my OPINION of Raw was can match yours exactly, and so I can stop giving "troll rankings" and pretty detailed reasonings behind said "troll rankings". I enjoy the Lashley/Lana/Rusev stuff and you don't, so clearly either I'm wrong or I'm just a troll because I can't POSSIBLY have an opinion or taste that is different than yours.

Okay yeah look, Meltzer is silly lol. Thats a given, but again we arent talking about Meltzers broken star system, we are talking about rating a show which is very..very different.

Look, I think the show was a 10/10. A near perfect episode of Raw, that I would hope they more or less use as a template for future episodes. That's what we're rating things on after all, right? Thats not at all what im saying, im saying your words arent matching up.

Again, you said a near perfect show, yet said the first 2 hours was a 8/10 and the contract signing brought it to a 6/10, and then because you enjoyed the last stuff so much it brought it up to a 10/10 despite the flaws it had, it just doesnt add up to me.

And also, here is another thing to consider, if you rate every single episode of raw 10/10 every single week, which you do, you leave zero room for growth, let me explain.

Raw has a average episode, and by average i mean its just as good as last week, no different you will rate it 10/10, every week, if the show isnt as good, your still gonna rate it 10/10, if the show is amazing and WWE just NAILS it for eveyrone, still 10/10

You see the problem here?its impossible to tell which weeks are great and not great because all you ever give it is 10/10, i dont think ive ever seen you give it anything lower, theres no bar, theres no room for improvement, hell if i made it a ?? out of 20 youd go straight to 20 and every week would be 20 out of 20, thats what im getting at here.

And here is the thing, im by no means saying Raw was bad, everyone ive seen talk about it has said great things and from what i did see it was a damn solid show, but just because it was the best in awhile that doesnt mean its instant 10/10, because its still got its flaws.

I aint telling you what to like or how to like it, im just saying that by rating it 10/10 every single week, it leaves no room for episodes that truely are some of the all time greats.

And none of that is even getting to my original point that rating raw 10/10, a nearly perfect show as you said, makes no sense when you yourself said 2 hours of it was 8/10 then the contract made it 6/10, that does not sound like a nearly perfect show to me, that to me says the show was average at the start, tanked at the contract signing, but got good at the end, making it a solid 8/10 or 9/10, because if it takes 2 hours to get to the great stuff then the show is definately not nearly perfect.

But i digress, i aint telling you what to like, i aint saying like what i like, im just saying by rating it 10 every week you leave no wiggle room to really determine what makes a show good, and it really doesnt seem like raw was nearly perfect when it had the issues you stated, your reasoning just doesnt add up with your own words. Atleast to me they dont.

Look man, I'm pretty much done arguing this. All you're doing is attacking my logic for no reason at all, and with almost nothing to base your claims on. Normally I don't even rate Raw, because I almost never get to see the last hour until my lunch break, and by the time it finishes up, my lunch is usually over so I don't rate it because I don't have the time to write much of anything, and usually don't want to rate without an explanation. I legit had to go back just now to see when the last time I even ranked a Raw was, and it was the last week of November, and it seems that I mostly ranked it because you tagged me. And that ranking was a 7 btw, which if I was to rank it every week, would probably be around what I'd be giving it. This week I gave it a 10, because I feel it deserves a 10. I have no issue whatsoever with you not thinking it's a 10, because obviously people have different tastes. I have an issue with you basically saying that you don't think that I think it's a 10. Like, what purpose would that even serve when most people forget about the ratings threads by Wednesday anyway?

rating raw 10/10, a nearly perfect show as you said, makes no sense
im just saying by rating it 10 every week
^This was all from your reply. 7/10 paragraphs included you saying that I rate it 10/10 every week. Hmm, let's take two minutes to research this claim, shall we?

Solid Raw, could be better, could be a lot worse. 7/10 for me
Huh, that's a weird way for me to spell 10/10. And I don't even see an edited tag, either, so either I'm a hacker, or that must be what I actually gave the show. Looking back through every rate Raw, in fact, and the last time it seems that I gave a 10/10 was on the 8th night of August, the year 2018. In fact, most of the time between now and then, I opted to not give Raw any rating at all, and any rating I DID give it, it wasn't a 10.

So no, I didn't ignore anything you said. Nor did I say that you're saying something that you didn't. I literally countered and disproved almost everything you said, my post just happened to be shorter because of the 10 points you made, 7 of them were nearly identical.

At this point, I begin to wonder if maybe after all this time of you trying to say that I'm a troll, that maybe YOU'RE the actual troll. And if that is the case, then bravo to you, because I normally don't get this fired up or annoyed at this small of stuff. But if you're not trolling me and this is actually your argument... well fuck, dude, you really need to quit living up to your Meltzer nickname and stop making baseless claims just to sound like you know what you're talking about. Please, bro, go work on your debate skills before ever accusing me again of doing or saying shit that I've never done or said.

Sure, you got me on the whole you rating it 10/10 every week, perhaps i was thinking of NXT and confusing that with raw.

But i should mention none of this matters as we have gotten away from my original point, which by the way you didnt address :P

Allow me to post it once more.

Until you make new points that I haven't already answered, I'm just gonna reply with quotes from now on. I still don't see why you're so hung up on me giving this one episode a 10. Maybe, just maybe, people can just actually really enjoy a wrestling show. Thank you for keeping my Corbin quote in my sig relevant though, btw :pity2:
