22 unique performers competed in a match on the main card of Clash of Champions 2019.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at which performers have currently wrestled on the most consecutive pay-per-view (PPV) events as of September 2019. The only rules are that the superstar must have wrestled for more than zero seconds on the main card of the PPV (sorry, pre-show fans), and events in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are omitted from this exercise.
- 10 events - Kofi Kingston
- 9 events - Bayley
- 7 events - Lynch, Rollins
- 4 events - Dolph Ziggler
- 2 events - Flair, Orton
- 1 event - Roode, Strowman, Revival, Woods, Big E, Bliss, Cross, Rose, Deville, Nakamura, Miz, Banks, Rowan, Reigns
And here are the streaks that ended at Clash of Champions.
- 6 events - Ricochet
- 4 events - Kevin Owens
- 2 events - Shane, Styles, Lesnar
- 1 event - Natalya, Goldberg, Moon, Stratus, Wyatt, Balor
Ricochet was called up to the main roster in February on the Raw following Elimination Chamber. From that point on he wrestled on the main card of every single PPV event, from Fastlane through SummerSlam, before he was left out of the mix at Clash of Champions.
Is this a sign of things to come for the One and Only, or is this just happenstance?
Meanwhile, the list of active streaks is about as bare as I can ever remember it being since I started tracking these results. Only seven superstars have a multi-event streak, and only five superstars have wrestled on the main card of more than two consecutive events. One of those superstars is Dolph Ziggler.
Finally, here’s a question worth considering as we look ahead to next month. If Kofi Kingston loses his WWE championship to Brock Lesnar on the Oct. 4 premiere episode of SmackDown on Fox, will he be left off the card at Hell in a Cell two nights later?
What do you think about this list of active streaks, Cagesiders? Which wrestler is most likely to fall off the list next month?
