  1. Roman Reigns recently sat down for an interview with ESPN. While his time there, Reigns revealed something that everyone across the globe wants an answer to, whether he is a heel or a babyface.

It is no secret that The Big Dog is the company’s new golden boy and will be pushed heavily for a good part of the foreseeable future. However, this decision is not so well-received by the fans as they relentlessly continue to boo the former world champion out of the building every week.

Here’s what Reigns has to say about his character’s status:

“To me, I’m neither. If I’m totally off here, then I’m totally off, but I’m the first of my type. I’m the first true gray area guy, just being what he was born to be.”

Furthermore, he makes it clear that he doesn’t indulge in the stereotypical babyface or heel things that many other Superstars do:

“I don’t go out there and act crazy and flail around and be a heel. I don’t come out there smiling and kissing babies, telling each town it’s my favourite town at the end of the night. I keep it real. Sometimes I’m in a good mood. Sometimes I’m in a bad one. I want my character to be as human as possible, but not just a regular human that you see every single day.”

Additionally, he says that this allows him to work with any and all Superstars whether they are a heel or a babyface:

“It’s just one of those things that helps me work with everybody. It’s not about, ‘Well, we can’t tell this story because it’s two bad guys going against each other, or it’s two good guys.’ I can adjust to any way (we want to do it). I can wrestle any way I want. Sometimes you fight pissed off. Sometimes you fight smart with technique. It just depends.”

The Big Dog is set to take on John Cena at the upcoming No Mercy pay-per-view.

Are you satisfied with the Big Dog’s answer? Tell us in the comments…

  2. Um.....whoa there, Roman!! I'm a fan and all but you full of shit on saying you're the first gray area guy maybe the first gray area character as the company's top wrestler. The fact of the matter is most of the characters in WWE have a little bit of that "gray space" where they can be face (or heel) for a couple of weeks to some years and the change up to a heel (or face) for a.......couple of weeks to some years. It's all about how WWE go about making the decision that works best for that superstars stories/career.

Now as the statement about demonstrating signs of what type of character he is, ok we get it and those who don't will have to endure the rough journey. Yes, Roman you don't USUALLY NOW go out there and cater to the crowd but sometimes you had to especially if you are expressing your side in a feud or match. I know everybody don't care for it but I'm satisified with the route he's going particularly with all the heat you are getting.

  3. Technically he's a babyface but if you factor in overall reception and the way he's been booked he really doesn't fall under any disposition. This is the direction wrestling seems to be heading in with characters.

  4. Yeah, true and I think that's why you doesn't claim himself as any disposition/side

  5. Roman once again opens his mouth...
    And bullshit comes flying out.

Just stop talking Roman...Nothing you say or do will
fix the situation you're in. Blame your bosses for turning
you into "The Man Surrounded By Boos" because of their
failure to wait and be patient with your booking...and now
they have no choice but to try and work with the booing for
    the rest of your career.

I swear the WWE Universe would cheer for Jinder over Roman...
and that's just sad when you really think about it.
