No specific timeline, but The Game thinks it will be ‘sooner rather than later’.
Their “press conference” itself didn’t involve anyone from WWE fielding questions from the media. But Triple H did talk to reporters at the event where the company announced matches with combat sports stars Cain Velasquez and Tyson Fury, and MMA Junkie got the scoop on another former shoot fighter-turned-pro wrestler.
We haven’t seen Ronda Rousey in or around a wrestling ring since WrestleMania 35, and reports coming out of her loss to Becky Lynch on that show in New Jersey were that her future in the squared circle was up in the air. She’s dealt with a couple of injuries - one from the ‘Mania Triple Threat and one from acting work - and has been open about her desire to have a baby with husband Travis Browne. But she’s also kept wrestling a big part of her online presence, and is the featured Superstar on the new season of Total Divas (which was filmed while she was an active performer with WWE).
So... is Rowdy coming back, Haitch?
We haven’t heard The Man trash talk “Ronnie” in a bit. If that starts happening again, say, shortly before Royal Rumble 2020?“Don’t have a specific timeline but she’s with us. This is family for her. She’s coming back. She has said it, she calls us all the time. I think the biggest tear for her right now is trying to do what she wants in her personal life and just missing this. There’s... it’s hard to explain, this is like a family and there is a brotherhood, and a sisterhood, here that’s deep with people.
I don’t think she understood that walking in the door, but when she got here... she said to me multiple times, ‘It was like the family I never knew I was missing, and the group of friends and the environment I never knew I was missing.’ I think she misses that greatly. She talks to everybody all the time, she’s constantly with us, and she’s constantly pitching her return. So, if I had to guess, it would be sooner rather than later, but who knows?”
