News Smarks are definitely talking about Sasha’s blue hair

The People's Champion

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV), New Japan’s G1 Climax Final, the Aug. 19 episode of Monday Night Raw, SmackDown & 205 Live on Tues, Aug. 20, NXT UK & NXT from Wednesday, this week’s Impact, ROH TV & MLW Fusion, shows, EVOLVE 133, and any other televised or internet streaming wrestling that aired from Aug. 18 - 24, 2019.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

The Boss is back, y’all...

... where did you think she would finish?

  • While SummerSlam surely gave us our Fiend-ish second place finisher, and contributed to support for our newly engaged Raw singles champs who retained there, it didn’t dominate the top ten like you might think a ‘Big 4’ PPV would.
  • The Best Kept Secret and The Big Dog are here for their work on Tuesday night.
  • And New Japan is well represented with G1 winner and some surprise asskicking from The Wrestler.
  • Heck, even NXT took up three places with their traditionally slow post-TakeOver episode... although it was the Fashion Police and a woman who’s cool enough to get votes for a highlight package.

Where even as last year’s winner is almost to triple digits in Standings points, the race is tightening...

A bit of a slow week before things get a little crazy on Aug. 31. Still, lots to consider from a good week of shows like Raw, NXT, SmackDown, New Japan, MLW, and the a wide variety of indie feds (where if you can keep up without the help of Rev. Claire’s Sermon on the Mat, you’ve got a better mind for graps than I).

So consider those shows, or any other wrestling that debuted on your screens over the past seven days. Then click and type below, and we’ll see you back here next Sunday with an updated S3!
