The People's Champion

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week’s nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - NXT TakeOver: Portland, the Feb. 17 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday’s Impact, NWA Powerrr & AEW Dark, Dynamite & NXT from Wednesday, NXT UK on Feb. 20, SmackDown on Friday, this week’s, MLW Fusion & ROH TV, New Japan’s Road shows, and any other televised or internet streaming wrestling that aired from Feb. 16 - 22, 2020.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

  • The Universal and Raw Women’s champs both kicked off big programs during the week in question, but concern over who will win the Performer of the Year race also seems to be impacting ballots. I chose to believe last week’s voting means f***ing with the Hulkster > stealing an ambulance with a chuck of flesh missing from your neck.
  • It meant that a historic title change on Dynamite, Mox being Mox, and Becky’s biter got pushed to the middle of the pack.
  • Following them, the rise of The BroserWeights has begun.
  • SmackDown’s Women’s champ got her first points for the first time in a long time for interrupting a rough Moment of Bliss, and we’re still enamored of Zelina Vega’s new associate.

Where I confess to being a little bummed Bayley won’t end the year with a NICE point total...
