The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Super ShowDown event, scheduled for Fri., June 7, 2019, at the King Abdullah Sports City’s King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This is part of WWE’s deal with the country for a number of events over 10 years.
We’re just over one week out from showtime, and the card has filled up quickly:
- Goldberg vs. Undertaker
Neither have appeared on television to build to this, but it’s been pushed hard in advertising as a major match between legends.
- Triple H vs. Randy Orton
They’ve done nothing to promote this, much like Goldberg vs. Undertaker, beyond simply saying it’s going to happen.
- 50 Man Battle Royal
Not a single participant has been announced. You can bet it will be pretty much the entire roster who is going over for the show who isn’t in another match.
- Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler (WWE championship)
Ziggler returned out of nowhere on SmackDown this past week and revealed himself as the next challenger to the WWE title. In reality, this is because Kevin Owens elected not to make the trip.
- Finn Balor (c) vs. Andrade (Intercontinental championship)
Andrade has pinned Balor multiple times, and had a fun sequence with him at Money in the Bank. They’ve actually done well to establish Andrade as a legitimate threat here.
- Roman Reigns vs. Shane McMahon
They’ve been going back-and-forth ever since Reigns hit Vince McMahon with a Superman Punch upon his move to SmackDown.
- Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley
Just a whole lot of beef.
That’s the card so far. It’s expected Brock Lesnar will elect to challenge Seth Rollins for the Universal championship on this show, cashing in his Money in the Bank contract in the process.
As of now, the list of active wrestlers who won’t be making the trip is at four: Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, Aleister Black, and Sami Zayn.
