Theories Time Travel - Is it possible?

  1. People are just obsessed with time travel. This thing will never be possible. inb4someonesaysneversaynever
I, for one, do not believe in it.
The chances of this happening amount to zero in reality, even if this could happen, everyone would go back in time to kill Hitler. lol

Just live your life as it is, in the present and leave the past behind, where it truly belongs.
  2. I wrote that down, but removed it because I doubt people would understand what I am saying. lol
Basically people would stop Hitler, Osama, etc.
  3. Who says in 100 years Hitler means jack shit to how the world has changed? He is still only BARELY in our lifetime, and I doubt time travel is something that would be like Bill and Ted's style shit.

Is it possible? Sure, but do I believe it would be like moving yourself from one time period to another without consequences? No.
  4. Sure, some really bad people would be stopped. I understand that. But if this time travel thing was possible, going back in time to change the past would have left some consequences for the future, that's for sure.

People would basically use this time travel thing to make the world a better place, which is nice. But, with all those bad things that had happened in the past being stopped, it'd be like creating utopia, which is impossible.
    Again, there's that consequence factor.

Even if Hitler or Osama could be stopped via time travelling machines or whatever... There are always gonna be lunatics in this world, another Hitler or Osama would be born through another person many years later. It's a vicious circle.

Also, knowing the greed and curiousity of people, this thing wouldn't be available to everyone and the majority would want it. So, this world being crazy as it is could easily start a war over those time machines.

I think it's better off the way it is, as just a theory.
  5. I think if time travel were to be practical it would be more on a "we have the solutions but we do not have the time, let's go back and teach past generations how to survive" rather then a "let's shoot the bad guys of the past" approach

Also, it is possible in theory(btw, "theory" is as high as something gets in science) if you're going to believe stephen hawking
  6. Here's how you test it, you write a note to yourself in the future telling you if time travel is real please make a sign for me on this exact date and time.. and if nothing happens then well time travel is probably not real .. at least within the time frame of your life.
  7. If multiverse hypothesis holds water, it would probably work and cause no paradox whatsoever. Multiverse is still quite the controversial topic, though. It would also solve the "how could everything come out of nothing?" issue.
  8. Yeah you take a sword out of a pedestal and you travel forward 7 years. Put it back to return 7 years. Trust me I've done it before.
  9. Sounds awfully familiar.. :notsure:
  10. If Hitler didn't do it, someone else would have. There's no rewriting history, it is what it is.
