Try something new

  1. I was randomly watching youtube videos and came across this dude's video. It is short but he makes some good points. Most of which I am sure we all know.

So when was the last time you tried something new?
Or even stopped doing something you have been doing for a long time?

I decided to take up something I always wanted to do and have put off for years, learning to play the violin. I just have to save up the cash and buy one.

  5. We just started trying to make our own infused water by putting cut up fruit and letting it sit in the water for like a day before drinking it. Not bad.

  6. But what happens if I try something new and it kills me? Thanks Ted!

  7. I heard strawberries and kiwis cut up are the bomb in water. I have had fruit in water before but never did it myself. It is definitely a healthier option over kool-aid or fruit juice.

  9. Its not bad (if you can wait long enough). I like just strawberries better though. We tried lemon, lime, and cucumber together too. Damn that stuff is potent lol. More cucumber taste then you would think though.
  10. Lime does well in water. Like real good.
  11. Lime also goes well in tequila and rum.

And cherries mix well with gin.

    And oranges with light-colored beers.

No fruit goes well in whiskey, but that's because whiskey is perfect.

  13. That method is exactly what I use.. Cucumber & then Strawberry is all I've tried so far but it's definitely a nice flavorful alternative that's good for you too.

I've done the strawberry one but now you're making me want to add kiwis to it and make strawberry kiwi infused water.
  14. Ehhhh, I use plenty of lemons when I make whiskey sours
  15. Whiskey....sour????

    *blinks uncomprehendingly and shakes head*

Why would you want to make whiskey taste sour?

  16. It's actually a popular cocktail at the bar I go to haha; usually goes with sugar and an eggwhite too if you go in the morning :p

  17. Its delicious. Couple shots, a juiced lemon, and 2-3 tablespoons of agave netcar
  18. Kiwi in water with a touch of sugar is good.

  19. never tried it with agave nectar but I imagine that's a hella load better than powdered sugar :p
  20. I hate whiskey sours, but that's just me. I generally don't mix anything with whiskey except Coke Zero.

As for me and the OP, I'm not trying something new this week. I'm returning to drinking after being unable to have alcohol for 17 months. Two nights ago, I had Jameson (or mother's milk, as I call it) straight with two ice cubes (and only two, no more, no less) and last night was Johnnie Walker Red (if it's good enough for Winnie, it's good enough for me), with a dash of ice-cold water to "activate" it.

Yeah...that'll put hair on your ass.
