  1. Team USA announced its provisional roster for the upcoming World Baseball Classic on Thursday morning and among the group are a National League Cy Young Award winner, three Most Valuable Players and numerous All-Stars.

For the U.S., there will be four players back from the 2009 team, which lost in the semifinals to two-time Classic champion Japan: Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins, Red Sox right fielder Shane Victorino, Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun and Mets third baseman David Wright.

    Mark Teixeira 1B Yankees
    Brandon Phillips 2B Reds
    Jimmy Rollins SS Phillies
    David Wright 3B Mets
    Joe Mauer C Twins
    Ryan Braun LF Brewers
    Adam Jones CF Orioles
    Giancarlo Stanton RF Marlins

Starters include Dickey, Medlen, Holland and Volgelsong
  2. Not bad :obama:
  3. I just wonder why Andrew Mccutchen isn't even on the squad. Argubably the best player in baseball/
  4. That is strange, maybe he'll be a backup?
  5. I'm guessing he had some clean up work done on something in the off-season.
  6. Could he have declined maybe?
  7. That'd be a very unamerican thing to do
  8. No verlander, posey, or Fielder either
  9. Right, Americans always do the right thing :George:
  10. :upset: :WHY:
  11. Total homer deal here, but i would kill to see US vs canada, bottom 9 Braun vs Axford.
  12. Me too, but Canada won't make the final
  13. I like your team honestly. There are a lot of other options, but i want to see US canada for it. You know Brauny hits it out the park though, right.
  14. Dribbler to the mound for the out :jeritroll:

  15. BRAUNY!!!!! :pipebomb:
  16. Of all people, why Rollins? I don't remember him having all that great of a season...
  17. In all honesty though its going to be tough to beat Japan an DR.
